lived on sal for 6 months last year....its not bad but at the same time not great, theres no farming on the island, you couldn't even buy a can of diet coke and all the meats shipped in, lived on tuna steaks and bought packs of frozen bacon or the islands favourite pizza! some great hotel restaurants but you can't eat there everynight and considering the apartments are being sold with kitchens i saw a big lack of choice to buy any groceries in the supposed supermarkets....in fact i walked into one in murdera where i was staying and witnessed chickens being chopped up on top of the deep freezer, chucked into plastic bags with no sell by date!!! if you like tinned beans, sardines or any weird stuff like that then away you go!!!

medical facilities on the island leave a lot to be desired, anyone sick or injured is advised to fly to the main island praia, i heard of one guy who was out there on an inspection visit to look at property who got mugged leaving a disco late at night and tried to fend off the attackers to get bitten on the arm by one of them....went for a tetanus at the hospital and they left him waiting for over half a day before he got anything done?

to the originator of this post.....are you selling out there and are you aware of what I have written?
