If you are looking for long run profits it is best to buy and rent out your property..But remember it is best to do such with villas and not flats which have an average life span of 25 years (the new projects)...
For short run buy flats in premium areas...wait for 4-5 months usually in june july (the summers) the property prices in Dubai go up...that is the ideal time to sell your flat...Villas on the other hand are best at renting you get your money back in 3-4 years but as is the case now 7-8 years (which is a good return) you save up a lot of money as well
