Life without Lifts?
On a recent visit to Turkey a Developer proudly showed me the penthouses in his five story apartment blocks. They had lovely fittings and huge wide balconys - and no lift!
It was quite clear that they were happy to discuss my ideas for how to make their properties appeal to westerners and how to add value in order to justify a pricing premium; but they could not get their heads around the need for lifts!
As many of us buying property overseas are the wrong side of 50 it seems to me only common sense to think a few years ahead when five flights of stairs with heavy groceries is a daunting thought! Wise up guys - if you want your properties to appreciate in value then you need to think of the 'bells & whistles' and a lift to the upper floors would be top of my list.
