Good luck.
I've just realised what you mean by DD, ''Due Diligence''.

You refer to me as having not done my DD, but that is why I refer to employing an independent lawyer to act on my interests by carrying out the DD as the Notar does not carry out any DD.

If I am living in another country and my German language skills are limited particularly to the point of ''Legal Speak'' (I know that I can get translations) how am I to undertake my own DD. I have no experience carrying out DD and would think that this would apply to the majority of investors, as here in the UK we employ lawyers to conduct this for us.

This is why I asked about a lawyer. I haven't bought anything yet as I like to have all the measures in place prior to viewing properties with a view to purchase.

As I know that you are involved in the purchase and selling of Real Estate in Berlin (having previously visited your web site), I would be interested to hear from you if you are able to advise me on how to carry out my own DD.
