Why don't you check with the developer directly?
If there are delays, ask for compensation. Many developers won't offer it, but you may get the chance to pull out and invest somewhere else in case there are major hickups.
Another [better] idea would be:
Why don't you ask them to arrange for a resale as you'll probably would've
made a good profit from 05/05 until 12/07, and then you can use that profit to re-invest it in Dubai. [with a better developer in case your current one don't treat you as you would deservedly expect]. I can help you if you choose DAMAC as I'm employed by them, and I can of course tell you why to use DAMAC, but that's only if YOU want me to do so.
