Happy to take your distances as being more accurate - I have only walked about half way - Red Sea Residencia is slightly closer than the Arabia Beach but not much, so we're maybe more like 750 meters away, and Hurghada Dreams maybe nearer 2 km - not very good with this metric distance stuff, especially in a car.
As you say the heat makes a big difference to how far you're willing to walk - only really an evening thing I guess.
Taxis are cheap if it's the location and not the walk that you're after.
