I am sure you can expect a good salary as IT is booming in India and the supply is less than the demand.
If you come to India on an Employment Visa you will be have to pay taxes in India only for the salary that you earn and save in India.

There are various slabs for tax and the peak rate is 33%

Cost of living is a very subjective thing....depends on what style of living you are looking at.
