If you are buying from a reputable company then you take the documents to a lawyer to look at.Then if all is ok you go and register at the cartorio .THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE IF ALL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED ARE IN PLACE.The sum you are paying even if it is 3,000 reais seems way dodgy and should cost hardly anything.HOW MANY PAGES IS THE DOCUMENT?QUOTE=PAUL-brasil;43190]I have used Rui Farias before for business use, not buying land and nothing to do with Coral, and will certainly use him again and meeting a few different lawyers he came up best with me! But I would not use as in your case though, Ralph and Dotty are spot on right. I see what you mean by it only a £9000 investment if its not a great lot too you, but you say 3000 for a lawyer, you must mean R$3000 surely, even thats expensive, when I bought R$150,000rais beach villa (or £39,000 as it was back then) my lawyer was R$2,000rais.
