I have contacted a newspaper reporter in the emirates business section who is direct contact with someone at RERA so hopefully I will get some assistance. Its an absolute disgrace of whats happening in Dubai at the moment as all the projects will not get completed until at least 2 years after the date that most developers have promised. I completed on my Jumeirah Lakes apartment in March which was delivered 18 months late, so was not willing to go down the same route again. Im thinking of setting up a website dealing with problems in Dubai, if your interested then send me a message
Rashad,

Try and patch up with the developer by sitting across the table and discussing. Try someone who can act as an intermediary.

The courts will be a long affair and you in the UK will have no control on the hearings.

I met a lady at RERA who has been fighting with the seller for 1 year, the seller backed out of the deal. She has been making rounds to the court and RERA and nobody seems to be helping.

Call for peace with the developer if there is some room for that. Pay this installment and negotiate on the balance payments. I have done that on one of my investments which got delayed by 14 months. This developer advertised guaranteed delivery and has 40 years of experience in the market.

I tried crossing swords, but when I saw RERA's attitude, I decided the best was to keep quiet. Don't forget most of the developers have strong connections in RERA and small investors like us will not be able to break that.

Hope you can solve this problem.

PS : You will do well if you open up a site dealing with Dubai's problems. Investors would access your site before they buy in Dubai.

Regards

Roshan
