Must admit currently if we were to live there full time we'd choose El Gouna as its already very established with quite a few expats living there already. And amongst all of those I know, they all love it. But Sahl Hasheesh will be beautiful in a few years time and the bay is just stunning!

Prior to purchasing in El Gouna we stayed at the Sheraton Miramar which is well located for both the beautiful marina and downtown (both walkable). I've recommended it to several people, all of whom are now yearly visitors! Another one I've heard good things about is Ocean View on the marina. Always looks nice when we walk through it, although doesn't have the extensive grounds of the Sheraton, but some lovely views over the marina. Also the Sheraton's beach was being redone when we were there in March, so no doubt that will be finished and should be really nice. For honest opions visit tripadvisor.com - loads of reviews about El Gouna Hotels.

Of course, a good option is to rent an apartment and that way you can sample the fabulous restaurants that El Gouna has to offer.

I'm sure you'll be very pleased with your Verandah purchase, it looks stunning. We're hoping to visit Sahl Hasheesh again in September to check the progress of El Andalous - and I can't wait.

Penny

Hi Penny, sorry for my late response, Thankyou for the detailed post, a problem shared is problem halved excuse the pun!!

We plumped for the The three corners Rihana Resort in El Gouna in the end, it wasn't an easy choice, El Gouna has some fantastic resorts, the Dine around idea is unique - I like it, maybe its something we could encourage 'the powers that be' to promote in Sahl eventually.

kind regards

Steve
