I've been looking into the market in Crete and have learnt that there will be a substantial new tax on purchases (18%, I think) introduced in January. I've been unable to clarify exactly who is liable, though I did read that this will not apply to first time buyers. However, not sure if that applies to foreigners. Does anyone know more ?
