Officials today radically stepped up their crackdown on hasslers by threatening to close businesses for between five and 20 days.
Didim Head Official Ali Katırcı said business managers that hassled tourists would face swift and severe penalties.
The council has been stung into action after pictures were run in the Voices newspaper and Turkish nationals of tourists being hassled within days of the season starting several weeks ago on Didim`s beaches.
Mr Katırcı said business would be shutdown for five days for a first offence, ten days for a second time and 20 days for a third offence.
