Having studied this carefully, I cannot see any reason for Turkey NOT to be admitted to the EU. Huge strides have been made with regards to the land issue in TRNC, and the European Court of Human Rights recently announced that the Turkish Commission dealing with land compensation was acting within the legal framework set out for such a commission. Their human rights record has improved massively, and continues to do so. The economy is getting stronger, they are a huge part of NATO, they already have a reciprocal agreement with some EU member states with regards to property purchase and a reciprocal health agreement is currently being hammered out with the UK.
