Why has the UK Thomson Fly flight to Brazil mysteriously disappeared from the online booking? Why when you search for a flight between 12/12 and 30/3 is nothing available?

I have a friend who was a real estate investor and bought loads of property on the costa del sol over 20 years ago. At that time there were irregular flights, charters from UK to Malaga that only ran a few months per year, or you had to go via Madrid. Once you got to Malaga he had to drive down the old n-340 for anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours along a very bad highway to get to where he was going. How much do you think this guy is worth now?

Will Brazil go the same way, I can't be certain, but the country is moving ahead at a great pace, it is self-sufficient in oil (which economically means a lot), has no terrorism, is a stable democracy, plus is actually a beautiful and exciting place to visit.

Regards,
Rob.

Rob , you have hit the nail on the head with your last sentence

I think the most important thing about Brazil future is one thing,OIL, Brazil is
now self sufficient in oil, within 5 years the UK and several other countries will be in server economic difficulties because of the oil price,
Oil production peeked in 2005 and is now in decline, demand is getting higher with Asia emerging, soon their will be well over 4 billion people from these emerging markets wanting fridges washing machines and cars, i can see oil at $130 a barrel soon (within 3 years), in the UK this will cause higher energy cost, higher food cost, petrol cost, inflation will go into double figures, houses will crash along with the FTSE. commodity prices will shoot up as people rush to find an alternative to oil, its all looking grim to me, hence a lot of my investments are in emerging market funds heavily weighted to Brazil,
they are years ahead of most countries with their energy program, yes Brazil a third world country, soon to be a major economy, as the local population gets more wealthy so the real estate prices will go up, its just a matter of time, I think Brazil has great potential for the future .

Just one more thing to add regarding flights, etc., Im not talking about property increasing due to people coming from the UK or Europe, it will be driven by the internal population as their wealth grows it will take time and as the economy evolves and mortgages become more available price will rise, European developers are their to make a quick buck hence developments are overpriced as far as i am concerned. and most agents charging 10% commission full of crap,

Just done a search of my own, departing Gatwick on Thursday 20th December, returning Thursday 3rd January. The price was Ģ970 per person, which isnīt surprising seeing that itīs Christmas, New Year and peak season in Brazil.

Maybe you werenīt looking at the right flying days?

Nigel, save me a seat on that ark will you!

Thomson, yes was looking at the right place ...they've rumbled that they are the only flight in and are holding back seats for their hotel customers on 2week all incl vacations. I even spoke to them on the phone about it..they promised to get me answers, never did. This is my whole point about these investments and why the flight issue is a major factor.

Default New flights from UK to Fortaleza

TACV (the Cap Verde airline) starts flying Stansted to Fortaleza via Cap Verde on Mondays and Thursdays from Oct 29th. Flight time including a 1-hour stop is 11 hours-ish.

Sample prices, including taxes etc, are Ģ642 and Ģ890. Check for yourself on Last Minute dot com.

It would be good to know more - is this Winter only or all year round?

Default Problems with TACV at Stansted

Golfingworld
A sobering story. At the moment, TACV's not for me anyway; Arkefly from Amsterdam is more convenient and cheaper.

I COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!!!!

Tourism can be great and certainly looks good but i wont bank all my money on it incase it didnt work out as well as planned like for example who know how long a strong tourism (if it does get strong) can last, anything can happen like the country who visits an Brazilian area the most (Dutch and Italians and the moment for North East) might be hit hard in a recession and of cause can effect other countries tourism, and a doom recession is a big big possiblity in the US and UK at the moment so that is a good example as it could also have a knock on effect to many other Europeans.

I think you might be right for Bahia Nigel but I am not so sure about Natal Fortaleza. Like it or not Natal/PN is a real holiday resort and some smart cookie like Gol or Easyjet will find out it is only 4 hours to Cape Verde or 5 to Canaries. Oddly I think Cape Verde's development will help NE Brazil as it brings it closer. A 737 800 might just make it from Las Palmas to Natal....then the floodgates might open.
