It's a shame to waste a valuable resource with all this strife. GW and BT gave us all a bit of fun in the early days, but GW and JMB are now wasting bandwidth and bytes in a silly spat. People have to realise that we all have different agendas.
Responsible agents present all the information, with comprehensive publicity materials and factual backup. Responsible buyers do their research (due diligence, if you like) and make their minds up. We're all adults, presumably intelligent and able to make our own minds up. If we disagree with another's point of view or way of putting it across, we ignore it - it does nobody any service if any one of us claims the moral high ground.
Some people buy for an investment, some people buy for a home or holiday home.
I work for a developer in Cumbuco. Over the last two years we have built two beachfront condominiums and are just started on our third. Fortaleza has few direct flights from Europe and none from the UK, but we have a steady stream of buyers from all over Europe and Scandinavia who appreciate Fortaleza's superb facilities, Cumbuco's peace and beauty and the quality of our builds.

I agree with you Dick- all the banter has got out of hand- insults flying around do no good to anyone. Please all calm down!! I really expect to be meeting most of you when you get the opportunity to visit Natal, as I live here, and hopefully can assist with information on a number of topics, or find the answers if I do not know, while you are here. Even if it is only to have a beer and a chat, or to recommend a reasonable restaurant, I am available to meet with members here. Unfortunately the internet promotes anonymity, so people can say things that they probably would not face to face. The thing is YOU ARE ALL RIGHT in your arguments, but most of it is not relevant. We are here because we like Brasil, believe in Brasil, and would not want investors making mistakes, through lack of knowledge.

Default Love, Peace And Harmony !!!

Hi all,

First of all I stipulated on this thread about 20 pages back that the whole flight debate could last the next 3-5 years if you let it that is?????

Also so far all posters have contributed tremendously and have presented many facts, figures, knowledge and experiences with others along with the odd speculation here and there!!!!

All of you are highly valued and so far I have found that many are infact agents -WHO IN MY OPINION have not openly shown this or tried to munipulate people, pressurise or hard sell to anyone!!

If they had- They would be removed from the forum or posting anyway!!

Therefore their contributions and participations on here I feel are genuine without hidden agendas!!!

Also guys n gals- We have a great forum on here, big variety of people and their views, MOST ACTIVE SECTION ON THIS FORUM -PLEASE DONT SPOIL IT WITH A BIT OF NAME CALLING AND PERSONAL INSULTS!!!!

Take care all,
Love you all- you make me laugh!!!!!
Very entertaining!!!!

See ya -D

The world cup key matches and groups will be centred around the major football centres of which NE Brazil rates about 10 on a scale of 100! FIFA's plan to move fans around the country like they plan in ZA and did in Germany doesn't work..the Brazilian infrastructure flights doesnt have capacity..there are no trains and driving is a nighmare. Distances are huge. Plus it is winter in Brazil when the world cup is on in July. Natal and Fortaleza will not be major centres...Recife is up the scale and Salvador will gain a lot..otherwise it will the usual story...SP/Rio and Brasilia. Sorry another false dawn!

The Northeast has had 400 mil US$ allocated to improving regional infrastructure while Southern regions have had 250 million allocated. The amazonian will have 200 million and mid-western will have 250 million allocated by 2011 according to the official estimates.

Officially, the Northeast will also receive almost double the second highest region (944 million vs 524 million in the southeast) investment in hotel sector.

With so much being invested in the region, with the governor of Rio Grande do Norte having said that she is doing everything she can to ensure that RN participates in the Cup 2014, I think there is a pretty good chance that quite a few games will be held in the Northeast. Whether Natal itself will hold a game depends on whether or not they are going to build ABC a new stadium or not.

I was with Brasilian people here today who do not believe that Natal will get world cup games here in 2014! Whether it is because of the airport not being ready I don't know, but they have no confidence. On top of that, yesterday on the news was tragedy in Sao Paulo, with the collapse of a stand there. Studies in other stadia reveal similar problems with weak structures. All of the main stadiums will need to be upgraded for the World Cup. I hope the airport will happen soon as I want be here to see the games! Incidentally ABC have their ground, it is America that are using Machadão for their games as they have no ground of their own. America is in the 2nd league and ABC in the 3rd league!

I think actually the tragedy might have been in Salvador, (while Sao Paulo were celebrating winning the title), but whatever - the point is that an awful lot of money needs to be spent in order to bring Brazilian stadia up to the required standard for the World Cup.

The problem was a failure in the reinforced concrete structure of a stand which resulted in a few people falling through a comparatively small area of said stand, which was for only standing fans. Much worse news is that most Brazilan stadia are of similar design and construction...
