When was the last time you flew Dotty.

It is about 7 hours from Lisbon to Natal, 8 hours Madrid to Natal and about 9 hours Madrid to Salvador.

London to Madrid is about 2 hours flying time.

Well that s just it.The flight is 7 hrs from Portugal, but Kasbah quoted from the Madrid to Natal flight as 16 hrs,so does it stop enroute? Then from the UK including travel and check time add another 5/6 hrs+ depending where you are come from. Not the easiest of routes especially to get to Natal.Stick with Air Portugal which is a guaranteed route if a little pricey from the UK ,but having said that the price will end up even more expensive going via Madrid because of the having to purchase 2 extra tickets to get to Natal.Tap is cheaper in the long run and they have so many routes.

Hi there,

Any easier solutions to get to the North East would be of help.

I have had a search around and it looks like what Air Europa are doing is two daily flights from Gatwick to Madrid and using Madrid as a hub.

They are opening a UK sales office and offering two flights at 10.10 and 17.40 each day of the week.

Whilst that is a pain to stop over in Madrid, I could think of a lot worse places to stop over and at least your luggage should be checked all the way through.

So they are not planning on doing Gat - Salvador direct then as I guessed before?

If Air Europa, when they start a route from Gatwick to Madrid, the arrival times do not fit well with the Mad - Sal departure then why not just use another air line for the UK to Madrid, I guess that there would be plenty around from all over the UK to Madrid which would hopefully fit well for the end destination. Easy jet, Ryan air comes to mind.

Dotty, what are you talking about, direct route Madrid - Salvador is 8 hrs just like Robh stated!!

That s right it would be 8 hrs from Madrid, but you need to get to Madrid,,but KASBAH quoted the flight from Madrid to Salvador as being 16 hrs,I guess including stops on route.Gat-Salvador does not exist (only TAP) and looking for a quick route from London.

They haven't started the flights yet so only time will tell, but I suspect it is so they can open up the market in the UK for themselves. It is a bit hard to say you service the UK if you haven't got flights going there

I think the morning flight leaves at 1010, so you would land in Madrid 1210 or 1230, then wait until 1600 for the Mad to Sal flight. So 2 hours for lunch and then start heading through immigration and security around 1500. Wouldn't be too bad a flight if the price was right and baggage was checked through, I have done a lot worse in my time.

Just when you thought no-one liked Natal it looks like air comet will again start flying to Natal from Madrid for club vacaciones in July.

They are offering Natal, Pipa, a combination of both or 4 nights Natal and 3 in Fernando de Noronha.
