How many families are going to pay £900 each to fly to Natal in July and August to take up property thay have rented from an owner? For a family of 4 the vacation cost isgoing to bein the region of £6000 or more for a 2/3 week stay. On the basis that you can rent an entire flat in Ponta Negra for about £300 per month in July-Sept who is going to pay 12 times that price for their flights? All inclusive to Salvador Sauipe with First Choice during the same period will probably cost a maximum of £1250 per head and this includes all food and drink. Who in their right mind would therefore rent a property at these prices and so where are all these fantastic "rental returns" coming from?

I think the £300 per month flat for a family of four in PN is a bit unrealistic, but if true then show me a link to it as I want to rent it when I am there next month.

Wow, they are getting cheaper by the day. Mike Bush says R$1250, GW says R$1000, and now you say R$700. Who can get me one for R$300 per month?

Moving on to other issues, we have now had two major developments either gone bust, stalled or run out of money. GNG and Lagoa de Coelho..whatever the exact position they are not exactly driving forward, are they.

Now to the purpose of this thread....the "boom" in flights has not materialised, in fact the reverse into Natal. Thomson have gone, so it is now difficult and very expensive to get there from The UK, quite the opposite to what has been claimed on many Brazil Property websites.

The airport, may or may not be built, but the issue is when and how it will affect traffic into Natal and area and the prices/availability of flights. My view is not a lot and not for a long time and certainly not a reason to claim that the property market will boom and provide wild profits.

The Bridge, is very nice, especially if you like the 5 o clock happy hour payout for being a Gringo in a hire car! It helps Rendinha and certain areas, but it doesn't help anyone from a new or old airport going to Maracajau or that region, which is also what is inferred in much property literature.

Jacuma village is not a favela nor did I say so, I said it is a series of fishermans houses with very little there. Not even an ATM or a Bank! You see, my issue is not with Natal or Brazil, my issue is with deliberately "spun" misinformation or hype, which may allegedly be created to mislead potential investors to the real opportunites.

I like Brazil very much, it can be difficult and dangerous, but nowhere near as dangerous as investing your money in property with those who wish to manipulate the reality.
One thing GW, how come thomsonfly list Natal (and Salvador BTW) as a destination if they aren't intending to fly there?

Default Club de Vaciones with Charter medio July2008 MAD-NAT

There is no way Club de Vacaciones, or any other operator for that matter, could implement and sell a route like this within 3 weeks.

Forget about it.

How do I know? I just know.
I was the one who informed about the drop of Natal by them last time.

Yet another proof that the season 2008 is going to be a disaster.
Last news:

Club de Vaciones, having booking problems with their block-space with TAP, is going to start their own charter from MADRID to NATAL medio July 2008.

The good news with it is that due to the short time left and to the fact that, according to Spanish Law, a change of that sort entitles the client to cancell the trip and since they are cheaper alternative offers ( as Mexico and Dominican Rep ), we are going to see some cheap prices to Natal as last minute offers.

I just flew up from Sao Paulo to Fortaleza on a TAM flight packed with Brasilians. I didn't hear any foreign languages being spoken at any stage of the check-in, boarding, flight, baggage reclaim, etc yet the flight was absolutely full.

Funniest thing was, I was the only one who actually sat in the seat which was allocated to me, everyone else just seemed to pick a random seat and the stewards kept running up and down the aisle trying to seat people whose seats had been taken hehe

By the way, as a matter of interest, only TAM in Sao Paulo had 24 check-in desks, and Gol had many more, as well as all the other airlines - must be well over 120-150 check-in desks total. Natal has 4 total in the whole airport? (I'll post after counting them when I visit Natal later on next week but from memory I think it was only 3 or 4).

Passport Control - Sao Paulo - 15 at least which I counted but were probably several others which I didn't see. Natal has 3 or 4?

Helps to get a better idea of why I'm saying the capacity of Natal isn't only related to the size of the runways as some people try to make out.
