Maybe the foreigners didn't want to go to Sao Paulo to get the Fortaleza and maybe Emirates manage ok with 4 check-in desks at Birmingham for 2 wide bodied flights per day to Dubai and onwards. Maybe if flights went from Europe direct to NE Brazil more often they wouldn't be full of Brazilians! And maybe if more airlines wanted to go to Natal they would do if they weren't dominated by restrictions on air traffic rights and prices...and then maybe they'd seem to find the check in desks!

If this is the case, photos that have been taken at the site 20k north of Natal, must be either made up by agents trying to sell property in Natal, or a figment of our imagination, you are not related to Dotty are you?.Go to www,myhouseinparadise.com and see for yourself.

There will be a new airport completed in Natal, but it will not be finished by 2009/10 .Just a quick note.At the Imira Plaza Hotel on Saturday there were just 6 people by the pool ,an elderly couple ,myself and a friend and 3 other people. The whole coast of Natal is totally deserted. Now if people are dying to get to Natal and according to Rob people will snap up tickets then surely the hotels would be seeing some positive if not slightly more movement by now.It is seriously bad news.

Since it is the lowest point of the low season right now I am not surprised it is empty, if the situation was like this in 30 days then you should be worried.

The hotel occupany in May was just 28% and the forcast for July is expected to be (in high season is just 50%).
If Richard Branson can get his packages together quickly that could increase, providing prices are cheaper than a US package of course!
It has been said that flights will be 80 % cheaper next yr ,but there are always so many buts..............

New direct flight from Atlanta to Fortaleza will start in October. You guys from the US will love not going to São Paulo or Manaus.
My two US friends hate the existing routes and have passed this info to me. I'll update on this as and when I hear more.

Thomson Worldwide - luxury worldwide holidays

One glaring omission from their new website launched today! Natal or South America!

All those with inside contacts that say Thomson still fly to Natal, please put your hands up.
