I expect that for Thomsons it will be from November - April (2009) as before.
The Condor flight looks good value at 672 euros return Recife - Frankfurt, and they also will fly from or to Forteleza I believe. There is another airline - Lauda Air - planes marked 'Livingstone' with plans also for Recife and Forteleza to Milan. Both will give the opportunity to get a cheap flight connection to the UK or other european countries. You can also book Condor for longer periods like 4 weeks or 3 months. They fly on Mondays. Lauda fly Fridays and I think Wednesdays. Spain still does not have a direct flight. There is talk that Arkefly from Holland are pulling out as well to Natal. (same group as Thomsons). Does anyone have the number for Richard Branson- if so I can arrange for someone from the Tourist board here in Natal to speak to him to try to convince him to come here.

I think you will actually find that Thomsons hope to start in the period Nov 2009 - Apr 2010, but as usual it is very hard to get to the truth with them.

We have not had much joy when researching flights with Livingstone before, and have now concluded that they merely connect with TAP at Lisbon...

There are offers with Condor at the moment for Monday 25/8 & 1/9 one way Frankfurt to Recife for 99 euros (+ inevitable taxes!), but they do seem to represent the best value until well into September at the moment

Hi,
Don't suppose any one knows any companies other than fly brazil that sell tickets one way or long term return tickets for arkefly? A member of my step-mum's family is looking to come on 1 Sept and return 2 march 09

By far the easiest might be to use Condor out of/to Frankfurt. I notice they were quoting 99 euros for Monday 1st Sept to Recife (+ taxes), and it is not that far from Amsterdam...

You can also book them one way or long term return.

Yeah had a look at that, unfortunately recife-frankfurt is more expensive. Worked out at like 800euro return but also have to pay for connections for frankfurt and from natal to recife which works out at a similar cost to arkefly. I just don't like the fact on fly brazil they charge you like 300 euro more for a long term return.

Hey guys..im looking for a bit of advice.

I live in London, and am looking to go to Belo Horizonte within the next few months - most likely at some point in October, for a length of 3-4 weeks, to visit some friends.

I have had a look on the web...and the cheapest flights I can seem to find is £800...which is with TAP.

Ive had a brief read through this topic, but haven't found any definite info on how to make the flight cheaper...

Stop overs / time length of travelling / flying to another city then getting a flight/train/bus to Belo Horizonte, none of that is a problem, does anyone have any advice on how to make the travel cheaper?

Thanks

Hi there,

Have you tried Steamond Travel or Star Travel(Brasilian flight specialists)? They are really reasonable and sell every ticket imaginable to Brasil. It might be an idea to give them a ring as they also sell the Brasilian Airpass(which is about 280,00 dollars -it may have risen) that can take you to 5 destinations over 3 weeks .The airpass can only be purchased with certain airline,I think Tam,but with that you will get to stay in other great places aswell for a very reasonable price.

Hi,

If you can wait until November and you don't mind stopping over in Miami try American Airlines from Miami to Belo Horizonte.

Otherwise London -> Rio -> Belo Horizonte is probably going to work out pretty good as well.

Regards,
Rob.

Well the plans have changed, and most likely I will be going in December instead. I had a look, and it seems flights from London > Miami are quite cheap, can be had for less then £400 return. Unfortunately from Miami > Belo is for some reason VERY expensive, around £800.

Thanks for the advice though, I'm going to somehow try to involve Miami in my little trip as I've always wanted to go there too!
