Hey Greg. welcome.

I noticed on your other post on another thread you stated you flew from US to Sao Paulo then used a domestiv flight to connect to Natal. You said it was back in 2000 and things may have changed now. Well my friend, you have missed out on a couple of months of 'how will we get there' debate on this forum, and it has been a very heated and divided one!! A very wise man named golfingworld started it off with concern that there will never be direct flights to Natal from UK and US for at least 10 years or so i think it was.

Have a read back through the Flight information thread regarding this.

The subject came to a close lately when everyone decided to give it a res tas it could potentially go on for 2 years lol.

Anyway my point is that is good to have a US citizen on here to shed some light there end regarding flight info for future reference

All the best and keep in touch.

Hey Nick,

I actually flew NYC - Sao Paulo - Salvador, but it would've been the same if I were going to Natal as well. You flew into Sao Paulo or Rio from NYC and then connected from there (at least from the NYC area). I didn't think of it as a big deal and it certainly would NOT have kept me from visiting Salvador or any other city, for that matter. For me, its not so important that there is a direct flight. The important thing to me is being able to fly direct from the major points of entry into Brazil overall. There are many places I go here within the US where I can't get a direct flight, so to get to someplace as wonderful as Salvador Brazil with only one change in plane is great to me. Maybe the perspective is different from people in the UK.

Again, I don't know how things have changed and I'm not looking to buy based on the expectation of an international airport in Natal opening up with direct flights to London, Miami, NYC, or other big cities like that. For me, such a development is a bonus. Its like icing on the cake. But it appears that others think differently.

Thanks for the welcome!

Greg

Default Re: Connections!!

Hi Greg,

Glad to hear that your not bothered about getting an interconnecting flight- thats a breath of fresh air and I hope othere fellow americans think the same!

Unfortunately have to admit that it is an issue for the brits- as we are abit lazy and not used to getting connections and travellingalot!
They kind of expect a one stop shop and consider it hassle anyother way!!
ALOT of people will be detered from visiting unless there are direct flights!

Whereas I suppose you guys are not as you are probably used to this because- travelling around american aswell like you said you have to get connections etc all the time- as your country is such a huge country with lost to see and do!

Unfortunately in little old britain-theres not much to see and do so connections and every day travel is easier- I mean you could drive from one end to the other in a day!!

Whereas I dread to think how long it takes to drive " ROUTE 66"- Do some people really do that???

Think I may have waffled on a bit sorry- but I hope you understood the just of it?

Take care -speak soon!!
See ya D

Default cumbuco and jericoacoara

Hi, I'm a property owner in Cumbuco and Jericoacoara, Ceara. (North-East Brazil). I have been living here for 2 years. Now married to a Brazilian lady.
I'm interested in any Golf course developments. Anyone know of any good deals? What was the going price in Natal? I can't find any info on prices!
Anyone know of developments in Cumbuco?

Here's some photos of the place I bought in Cumbuco:

Rental - Royal Cumbuco Penthouse

and in Jeri

Jericoacoara.co.uk

I'm very happy with my investments, and can only see the prices increasing as Brazil becomes more and more popular.

Nice to hear from you Coxi,

Do you rent these properties out yourself, or does the developer handle that for you? What kind of occupancy are you seeing in your vacation rentals so far?

Greg

Hi Greg

The apartments in Cumbuco are rented out by myself and by the developer. I don't get many rentals... but I use the apartment a lot, so I'm not very flexible with rental periods.

The apartments in Jericoacoara were built by myself, and I sell and rent them out for my clients. In Jeri, within 2 weeks of opening, I rented out all four apartments from August throughout to Feb'08.... It's going unbelievably well. All my clients are windsurfers.

I'm now starting another project in Jeri - 16 apartments. I will post details when the project designs are completed.

I'm also looking for more investments along the north east coast. I'm a keen golfer and I want to find a good golf course development.

Cheers
John

Sounds like you are a developer/investor, no? If so, how do you navigate the development procedures to get your buildings built? Are you onsite during the entire construction? Do you rent your palces out through a website? Do you have someone else onsite managing the rentals?

If you would prefer, we can discuss the details offline as I am keen on learning more about developing in the area both for resale and for rentals. Thanks.

Greg

Hi everyone.

This is my first time buying abroad as well. I've decided to go for a boutique condo in Pipa which will complete next April. Signing the contracts etc over the weekend and paying the deposit on Monday so soon there will be no going back!!

I'm very excited about the whole thing and think the area looks lovely so I'm looking forward to getting over to visit next year at some stage.

One question regarding CPF numbers.....does anyone know if you can get one in the Dublin Embassy or will I need to go to London?
