Hi all,

Yes it was on sky news live from NATAL BEACH where hes building his football academy!!

Beach llooks great and becks seemed very enthusiastic about it!!

So we now have the uk tabloids also in the morning to look forward to highlighting the becks brazil football academy to come!!!!

MORE PUBLICITY FOR BRAZIL AND ESPECIALLY NATAL!!!

So I suppose the beckhams will now be in search of a becks palace in natal for their visits to stay!!!

Then Im sure other sports personalities will follow and the footie lads will start looking to expand on their property portfolios also!

What beach in Natal was it Dee? On Ponta Negra and Praia do Meio beaches there are volley ball pitches where they play "Footvolley". Anyone who seen the local lads play this will be wishing that our national footy heroes had half as much skill!! Anway I wish him success in his venture, hoping that his eyes are open to the difference between his riches and the pittance of a salary earned by large majority of Brasilian workers (under R$400 per month). No doubt for those who missed the SKY report will have a repeat over the following Newscasts.

It definately wasnt a developed area as all you could see in the background was lush palm trees, beautiful sand and turqouise waters!

I think the whole reason or a large chunk of it is that he is hoping that the england team will train there before the world cup!
And that by then he will still have some big part to help in all that- as by then his footie fitness will be taking a nose dive and hell be if not already on the brink of retirement!

Anyway good on him, he has the money to do so- why not??

I think its clearly obvious that he realises and so do his advisors that this will not be a major success or a money making empire!

I think and dont doubt for a second that hes done this purely for personal and not monetary reasons !!

He doesnt need the money and setting it up and running it in brazil will not cost him that much compared to other countries!

I believe the academy is going to be at San Roque, Touros, He was not at Ponta Negra for sure, although apparently he stayed on the Via Costeira - Locals here say he is leaving Brasil today - seems like just a publicity stunt to me. The Sky interview did not give much away as to the locality. Anyone recognize it - could have been almost anywhere!

Also I noticed in his interview he mentioned " he will be opening a football academy on a resort development in natal"

If thats the case then becks may well have been paid to do this anyway and the developers may well fork out all costs on the development to keep it going!

And I bet he got a nice big villa given to him on the development also as a gesture/incentive??

Like banderas and ronaldo have been given!!

SO WHAT DEVELOPMENT IS THAT THEN??

Cant be GRAND NATAL GOLF-As ronaldo is doing that one!!!

Mind you Ronaldo and becks are best friends from playing at real madrid so becks maywell have got the idea from him???

But equally since then the announcement of the world cup would have helped

It's not Lagoa. It's a new development. Rumour has it that Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf will also be promoting this new development.

At the moment, we don't have a DDR for it as the project is still being completed, but when it's launched I'll post more details here.

I visited the site when I was in Brazil but at that stage it was still all unofficial.

I didn't see the interview but I'll check Youtube for it and see if he was standing at the site I was shown.

We have been on site as well and it is definitely not Lagoa, but it is a big project and there is some serious money behind it by all accounts.
