Thanks
My information is that at Lagoa do Coelho, they have to make substantial alterations to the original project design. That means delays and loss of confidence, naturally.
The only resort I know of that is progressing well is Porta dos Corais, in Maracajaú. That is a more manageable 341 units, and has sold well.

Ramundo - I dont think you read all of the posts about Project Zen or understood what the development is, before you leapt in an accused us of purchasing in a "touristy project" and criticised David Beckham.

If you had read the posts you would have seen that Project Zen is a small eco development, many of us purchasing have visited Brazil and many of us purchasing here intend to live at Zen. The mention of the other resorts was purely of interest because they are in Zen's locality, none of us intend buying there. We are ALL very happy and excited to have invested at Zen.

I've been involved on this forum in other countries that I have purchased and I am really suprised at the negative tone in the Brazilian boards. If anyone has any concerns about the Zen project or matters directly affecting it, I'll be happy to hear about it, otherwise to leap on here and call us stupid for investing in Zen really is just rude.

There are lots of positive and wonderful things about Brazil but one needs to be aware that there are many sites that have been abandoned in a short space of time.I really hope your developers have got it together and the project is up and running in the future, alternatively think about properties about properties that are functioning .They will be easier to sell in the future if things do not go the way you thought they would.
Good luck Dotty

Dotty - I appreciate your warnings and agree that it does seem many development never get past breaking ground. Most of us have had dealings with the company promoting this and sharing on the development before. So whilst we can never be 100% sure of completion without problems, we stand a good chance!
You seem informed and I'm grateful for your insight, I'm just getting a little fed up of people critising with no evidence to support their critisisms, but a whole raft of other devts to sell us!
Regards, SS

so only Brasilian companies are capable of finding great deals? Personally I'd rather deal with someone I knew and trusted, regardless of their nationality. And anyway, our British company is in a co-ventue with a company living in the region.

Anway, I'm fed up with defending this venture, my investment. I do wonder why some people are on here. We are all very happy investors!

Dear Dotty

I do agree with you that local Brazilian developers provide good projects, and to the most part, good service (if a bit slow). That is not really the issue at stake here. You say you live in Rio Grande do Norte (do correct me if I am wrong). Now, of how many developments done by local Brazilians do you know of that is being marketed to international investors. It is very new for Brazilian constructors/developers to consider actively marketing their development in International markets.

Sure, they will sell to a foreigner if he knocks on their door, but they have never in the past put down the money to market their developments abroad.

Now, if that was the attitude in the Brazilian market, how can you blame and critise foreign investors from buying from reputable, non-Brazilian companies?

Do not misunderstand me, I am not saying that Brazilian companies do not want to sell to foreigners, I am just saying that it has not been a priority. That has slowly changed in the past year or so, but more than 60% (I would even say 90%) of developments available to the European public is by International developers or agents.

Exclamation Zen project

Hi everybody, I totally agree with sunnyshores, I am one of the people who have bought, not for investment but to live at the Zen resort. why did I not buy from a Brazilian developer? 1) they do not market the Zenproject, which is where I want to be.2)Jans is not only the developer, but owns the land on which Zen is being built, and also a substantial area of land surrounding Zen, therefore he does not have the problem of raising money to buy the land and also develop it, which is where a lot of developers fail. and 3) It is my money and I will buy from whom and where I bloody well please, so dotty put your PC away for a few weeks, as I think everyone who has bought on this Development, did so after thorough research, and do not want to hear your banal musings any more. graymax.
