Just one more for the weekend then - my preferred way of learning new languages is watching Disney DVD's (or Pixar or similar) - the language is simple and easy to remember, you can put the subtitles on English and watch it in Portuguese then vice-versa until you have it memorised - that will give you enough to carry on a basic conversation while you work on perfecting the grammar.

That's how I learnt basic Portuguese although it did help that I was going to a Portuguese school at the time.

hehe have a great weekend

Wow Mr. Broad !! What a GREAT idea!! There are a few movies I just love and I cant wait to go see if they have Portuguese. I want to check Nemo. I have that one memorized!! (BCE Jeff's wife talking - wouldn't want you to think Nemo is His Favorite movie!!)

What are some of your favorites you have used?

I am doing a lot of studying today I am off work- printed out this thread so I can look up so many things - geography - projects etc - I am sure a nice movie would end my education this evening!!

Hello All,

We are leaning towards making our destination Fortaleza. Has anyone any experience with Eco Paradise Hotel in Cumbuco?

We would really appreciate advice as to what area to begin our search.
I visited just such a house today, but it was 250 m2, 3 beds, very high specification and is going for about 300k€. Has very nice views to the sea and surrounds and takes about 15 minutes to walk to town.

Default Eco Paradise Hotel

I have looked around, It gave a good impression although I never stayed there.

It's a nice hotel and right next to the beach.

Me and my wife visited to check it out once. There are probably hotels cheaper in the area, but not the same standard.

Regards

Nemo is great hehe - Just about any Pixar or Disney works well - I'm more partial to the "oldies" - the Rescuers, 101 Dalmations (the original version), Lady & The Tramp, etc The language in those seems less slang - while using some slang is great for blending in, you don't necessarily want to use it while talking to a minister, etc

Jeff -

I have a few secret locations in Brazil that very few Gringos know about. Gold mine areas... and great ROI. This info costs me thousands to dollars in travel expenses to search out, over many years.

If you're interested, send me a PM.
