I understand that Rio and Sao Paulo are booming though. Do you have anything in the cities?

Wow, if you are getting hundreds of enquiries a day, then you are doing much better than the major property portals who aren't getting anywhere near that about Dubai nor anywhere else at the moment.

I am sorry to hear about your friends, but I can easily dig up the lots of horror stories about the UAE. Last I heard you couldn't even swim in the sea in Dubai becuase there is nowhere for the sewerage to go except into the sea.

As for Brazil we don't do the cities, we only do certain areas on the N/E coast where we know the area very well and know the developer.

Rob.

Iain,

I just had a look at your site and it seems like you have listings located on the coastal areas of Brazil, how come you do if you don't like the area?

Rob

Looks like you are using luxuryrealestate for your listings? What are they like as an MLS?

And what about Italy? There are still many areas in Italy where prices are very low, such us Basilicata, Calabria, Molise, etc.... also well known region as Tuscany have areas such us Lunigiana and Garfagnana where is possible to find very good investments starting from €70/80K, not bad for a house in Tuscany....! And you can be sure that the Italian property market is not gonna blast like a bubble as is happening in Spain or other markets...!

I am surprised too that nothing else in the gulf is there.

Not that I'm recommending it, just surprised.

Why isnt UAE there???
- while the whole world is facing crisis, bankrupt,Stocks falling, property prices lower than ever.

Uae is still booming, if people want to make money do invest in uae especially in Ajman because the time is very close for Ajman to boom. !!

Ya it is definitely booming. The growth has slowed a lot but it is probably one of the best places for rental return as long as proper research is carried out. There are tens of thousands of apartments about to be released this year and tens of thousands next year. An incredible amount close to the entrance of the Palm Island and many more in different parts of the city. As long as you identify the parts of the city that wont be as badly congested from 5-9pm Sunday to Thursday or/and within walking distance in the heat of summer to the Metro.
The metro is coming along but parking hasn't been sorted yet for the metro. This will be a huge details as people wont walk 200m in the middle of summer.
There is a good rental return to be had in Dubai as long as the correct area is found. Rental form 10% +.
The downside is that it is an expensive market to get into now, It will be a lot harder to sell in the future as supply is excessive.
And if Russian hits a recession than prices could indeed come down but Dubai has such a luxury appeal that the top end of the market may not be affected as much. Speculation speculation....... but with risk comes reward, if the correct area is found than it could be very profitable, not for the novice investor anymore though.
I wouldn't be buying here if i wanted appreciation, it would be a more long term strategy.
by the way what are the main reasons for investing in Ajman ?
Also the new law is starting to be enforced w.r.t. more than one family living in a dwelling. This could have a great advantage for the studio one bed market.
