Forgot to mention that I have ordered my furniture with the above company and am delighted.

I was given their address and telephone number in Spain. I thought they were very professional and even spoke with one of their directors who was very pleasant.

Bit worried about the credit card thing but they put my mind at rest.

I find it very difficult to part with hard earned money just because someone says to you 'trust me'. FDW dont inspire confidence at all. They had someone call me today to reassure me that FDW was genuine and that he had bought 2 furniture packs from them. But he witheld his number and did not identify himself beyond saying he is a private investor. I not a couple of feedbacks say they have had no problems with FDW, OK, but what if a problem does occur, and the furniture goes astray. Who does one contact, and where do you go for redress? The lady that rings me from Spain regularly always witholds her number. I repeatedly ask them that paying with a credit card would give all the security we need, and they can put on the 2% charge on me. However, they wiggle out of it just like a fish does. I'd better off with the sharks I know (the big estate agent on TV) than the sharks I dont.

I agree with you that some companies would not inspire confidence. But don't sell yourself short either. There are different companies you can choose from. By doing a bit more research you could save thousands which if you have a mortgage might pay off 6 -9 months !
Some would say the sharks you know is definitely not the best option!!!!!
No shark good, bad or indifferent would get my money....there is always another route. Guys do you know exactly when your apartments will be finished.
Property companies will try and sell you a furniture pack well well in advance to try and get the sale.

The properties are likely to finish by end of May. Typically, the furniture companies are saying to order NOW, or you will be joining the back of the furniture installation que. This sense of urgency that they try to instill is really irritating.

Hello,

I have furnished a total of 6 properties now in Bulgaria, Spain and Morocco.

In Spain I used a company called Villapac. In Morocco I used my estate agent (very expensive) and In Bulgaria I used Furniture Direct Worldwide to furnish two apartments in Bansko. Both have been installed entirely to my satisfaction. (still haven't had any rentals from the developer.........but that's a different story)

When I first ordered furniture with them I challenged them on not being able to pay on a credit card and they explained to me that they would only accept a bank transfer. I pressed them on this and it was eventually explained to me that up until recently they had been supplying furniture to property companies and developers and did not need a credit card facility, which I could understand.

They did concede that they would be offering this facility in the future to their direct customers.

After using them before I did not hesitate in purchasing furniture from them for my apts in Bucharest and would recommend them to anyone.

The telephone number I have for them is +44(0)845 193 2318 and from the paperwork they sent me they are based in Fuengirola, Malaga.

Hi All,
As I mentioned before I have used fdw to furnish a property of mine in Bulgaria and am likely to again in Spain and Bucharest, however I cannot vouch for the rental set up.
I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with thier rentals teams?

I just received a call from FDW regarding my property in Bucharest which is completing in May.

My agent has offered me a furntiure pack at nearly 10k + installation fee and tax.

FDW have offered to furnish it for 6185 euro all in and I paid by credit card!!!

Happy days!

Thats right, they rang me and say they now have the facility of a credit card in their name. The cost of furnishing a one bedroom flat is 6900 euros appxt. with white goods and installation all included. They say they will provide new locks at the end as well. They added 2% CC fees.
I have paid because now there is credit card protection. Now time will tell. We also now await what their rental people will be able to do. I have made contact with local estate agents, and if FDW are no good, I will post that information here.
