Default Sfatu;ui renovation

Hi Geraldine,

I think you may be misunderstanding me.

Firstly, I am not comparing myself to any other team or somehow saying my team is better. I distintly recall saying what a good job they had done. Not sure what 8 years experienc has to do with anything. I have 25 years of renovation expereince & its still not nearly enough. I constantly draw on other propfessionals for 2nd opinions in awkward or unorthodox situations.

Secondly, the plasterbaord was chosen by the client, me. It is fitted to cover the ceiling which has a 60mm slope across the width of the room & also is only a thin layer of plaster, with a brick topping, leading to rapid heat loss & expensive winter bills.

The outside/ gable wall of the aprtment is also lined for the same reason, it is single skin & offers nil insulation in summer or winter, so drylining offers a significant improvement in that area in terms of heat insulation. As you rightly said though, clients choice.

Thirdly, the somewhat hideous gas pipe visibility was a legislated requirement to get approval. It could not be covered anywhere. Much as I'd like to do what 400m other European homes do & hide it, I was not able to if I wanted approval for the use of gas in the apartment.

Hi Damien,
Let me clarify that I did not think that you were comparing your company to Investment Romania in any make shape or form. It is just my opinion, and important to me that they have 8 years restoration and renovation work experience here in Romania.

On the subject of using plasterboard, it is a matter of personal or client taste. It may be fine for you or anybody else for that matter. I was making the point that it is such a shame in my opinion and takes from the character of the original walls even if they are uneven. A very good plasterer can work with this.

On the matter of gas pipes, I am aware thet these have to be left uncovered, but as far as I am aware the water pipes from radiators do not have to be visible. Correct me If I am wrong on this as I am always open to help coming my way.

As for the overall feel from the video on Piata Sfatului, it looks very well and I was in no way being critical of you personally, merely stating what came to mind when I read the post. I have no vested interest in renovation work and genuinely wish you the best of luck with all your projects.

Moving back to where the lead on these posts started, I look forward to seeing through a link any examples of furniture packs that you have done.

geraldine.

I have had dealings with this company - Furniture Direct Worldwide - and they have had 8,000 euros of my money for 5 months and have missed 3 delivery dates - I can longer reach them on either phone or email - I would warn ANYONE NOT TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY

Happy days!

Do you actually have your furniture?? I ordered for a Spanish apartment due for installation in December and they couldnt deliver, now they are not available by phone or email

Would be interested in hearing from anyone who is able to get through to this company,

I have calls logged with both credit card company and MoneyCorp but it looks like there is little protection even paying this route!

Thanks

Hello there,
I think there are people on this forum missing a vry valuable piece of information. It is- Do not under any circumstances hand over money for furniture packs until you are assured of getting them, and getting them delivered and put in place at a specific time and for a reasonable price. Why are people handing over money by credit card or cash, in full, as if this guarantees a furniture pack. I only paid a percentage up front to Property Management Romania, agreed the time and date of delivery, and the price range I wanted the apartments to be furnished with. When the furnishing was completed to my specifications and satisfaction, I paid the balance. Stevie who is director of propery management romania kept me informed throughout the process, and I therefore had a smooth and easy passage which I believe everybody is entitled to when they are paying for a seervice. Please stop handing over money without knowing what you are getting, when you are getting it, and if you are geting it at all.

Geraldine.

Am unclear who you are trying to contact. Is it Property Management Romania? If so I can send you their number. Not sure if I can put phone numbers on forum, but if it is needed I will send it in a private message to you.

They contacted me yesterday and said that they had been fitted with a new telephony system (they've used that one before!) - however speaking to MoneyCorp they have requested the credit card facilitiy be removed as the company was sold early January to a new owner.

I have been told my furniture is being installed as we speak but I am still very dubious - will update on here when I have confirmation.

Thanks

Well we arranged to meet the fitters and see the progress - needless to say that nobody was there and nothing has been done/installed. now they are not answering the phone again.

Please learn from my mistake and dont give these people your money - they have no intentions of delivering

Default Furniture Packs Romania

Greetings,

If anyone is in need of furniture packs or parts thereof, please get in touch as I have 2, perhaps 3 that have been paid for, but the associated apartment purchase has falled through & the owners are looking to sell on at a discount. One contains custom (but still adaptable) kitchen designs, but much of the content is universal. They were sourced from a premium supplier in Brasov who completed many apartments in Avant & Tampa Gardens developemnts. I have a few youtube videos of the furniture packs this company has done, & its certainly ok (albeit made from Pal, or contiboard is it is known in the UK)

In addition, we are also able to supply custom packs as required. If you wish to see videos of our own work, just ask.

If you need to sell your pack on & can't do that here, please get in touch. Can't promise, but if we can help, we are happy to. Electrical appliances, beds, curtains etc should be easy enough to re-house for you.

Regards

Damian Galvin, White Mountain Property.
