Hi colum1975
I have just emailed Shirley about this as she was the one who originally sent me a letter stating that they will be able to confirm the handover dates on the 17th of June.
I'll let you know what response I get.

Hi MainHead,

Good to see your login is finally working. I have emailed Shirley twice in the last few days, and I'm still waiting for a reply.

We wait with baited breath for some good news please.

Hi guys,
Just received the following email from Shirley this morning:

"Please note I received an e-mail from Nakheel dated 18/6/2007 in the
afternoon stating that the Power connection has not been completed in the
buildings at Spain, England, and Russia cluster by Dubai Municipality due to
which Nakheel can't guarantee the confirmed handover before mid of July
2007. As this is the delay from the government bodies they are also unable
to confirm the dates as of now.

We have been informed by Nakheel that they are following up with Dubai
Municipality on a daily basis upon getting the confirmation would send out
the final handover dates accordingly we would keep the unit owners informed
of the same.

If you are still skeptical of our information you can contact Nakheel at
Tel: 00971-4-3903333 (ask for handover dept), e-mail: info@nakheel.com."

So it looks like zeor4 are stuck in the middle of this without any power to speed things up. I like the last comment about contacting Nakheel directly.

I have personally met with Shirley and have been to the site and have spoken with Nakheel staff and the workers there, and have always got the impression that it was DEWA holding things up. Though it might not be competely their fault. I personally don't believe any of the blame lies with Zero4, I think they are just as fustrated as us.

I thank you for your e-mails and messages which gave me the idea not to be alone in this situation.

Hi all, I have just joined this forum. I have already sent the final payments as handover was promised end of May, then June 17th. Today 25th there is still no date of handover. They are obviously happy enough to have the money!!! Does anyone know where we stand legally (been various dates given since Dec 2006).

It all seems a bit of a joke to me. So far the handover has been delayed Since December 06 and if were lucky to get it in Sept 07, that would mean a delay of 9 months. What about the rents were loosing out on. Does anyone know if we are able to claim any sort of compensation??

I've yet to hear of one case in Dubai where someone has been awarded such a compensation. I would say we have no chance. By the way, i'm in same situation as you.

All those people that booked a non refundable plane ticket for July need to ask their property developer for a refund, as it was the developer who sent out notices stating the building were ready the first time round. It may not work on every occasion, but some of you may get lucky. As for compensation from elsewhere, why should they? It's not like we are going to cancel our purchase even if it runs to 2010 are we? For one thing they stand to make varying percentages as deductions for non completion so they cannot lose.
