That equates to approx £700.00 in GBP.
If you are the sole owner and can take a week off work, it will probably cost you around £300- £350 for a ticket and £40 - £60 per night for a decent hotel. So, even at the higher end, your only spending an extra £10 if you stay 6 nights.

Personally, unless your completely confident that there will be no issues with your apartment, and you are happy to hand a Power of Attorny over to a stranger, I would recommend going yourself.
If you are in the UK, you may well need to get a Power of Attorny notarised, then attested by the FCO and then stamped at the UAE embassy and all that alone could cost you around £100 - £150.

Also, do you want to miss that feeling of elation and satisfaction when you finally get the keys in your hand especially after all the ups and downs?

If you still want someone to sign for you, perhaps the procedure will be different for a represetative in the UAE, and maybe someone could shed light on that procedure for you. Even though Zero4 want 5000 AED, you know they are the owners, and there is some piece of mind attached to that rather than finding a thrid party.

Personally, i think that's extortion.

anyone got any ideas?

Considering everything that has happened so far, I would be surprised if the snags were fixed with the space of a week.

I would prepare for the worst. Expect atleast a month to complete handover.

For the folks in UK who don't want to get the keys, You will not need a Power of Attourny you a need a letter of Authority which Zero 4 will accept, I have that letter as others have given me authority to get keys.

Thank you for clearing that up Jamilm. I did'nt know it was that easy. It certainly isnt for JBR and Emaar. They ask for full on Power Of Attorneys to ensure there is no confusion should a dispute arise at a later stage, including getting attested at the UAE Foriegn Ministry, which I hear is like having your teeth pulled out.

I have heard that we should wait for this letter in August before we book our tickets, the main issue is that we will get our keys in the middle of fasting (Ramadan) period, when everything slows down. So dont expect things to happen over night. Lets see .... what comes

Red face Update T4 Spain

Just an update was asked to go look at T4 building from one of the owners , unfortunatley I could not get access inside the building .

Went to the Site Office to ask permission and was told that buildings have all ready been handed over to the Building Owners.

Delay Reason was told DEWA need to do their stuff with Electricity and Water. I was told 2 weeks .

Took some photos however no real change from those posted earlier, Buildings are completed, just aesthetic work needed on surrounding streets ,clearing dirt, rubbish and building materials.
