All emphasis is on completing the piling for the Mall of Arabia and Wadi Walk developments where 85% of the sewerage and drainage system and 65% of the internal roads are completed This statement was given to me the end of 2006. MED give same information for last one and a half year.
Disappointment.

Construction Works (shoring and piling) will start as soon as the infrastructure is completed to enable the sub developers to start construction and we hope that this will happen fast so that we can start the construction on the plot very soon. We do expect the shoring to commence by the end of this year.

Dear Mr. Siong,

Please note that the latest update on the Arabian Crowne Project is as follows

The City of Arabia is still being delayed by the Galadari Group (master developer).

Please be aware though that when complete, it will become a major tourism destination that will provide significant returns on your investment

As you have already paid 30 % of the total amount your next payment will be due once the podium has been completed

Anticipated completion date of the podium is the second quarter of 2008

Default City of Arabia - Wadi walk & Metro Tower

I purchased Wadi Walk when it was launched over a year ago.

There are delays withthe project, but my experience with I&M Galadari group has been excellent.

They have compensated for the delays and I believe, ( although no one can see the future ), that the City of Arabia Project will be a landmark development when complete.

I work in Overseas property, and have met some dodgy developers in my time, I seriously think that these people are worth backing all the way.

My experience of Galadari is somewhat different. I bought in Wadi Walk last October. I am still waiting for the receipt for my down payment. After several months of correspondence, the salesman is still unable to explain why the price per sq ft does not multiply out to the sales price.

On the plus side, no one has contacted me about the 2nd instalment, which was due in December. I emailed Galadari to remind them; they promised that "Customer Service" would be in touch; no contact so far.

I'm unsure what is the best adjective to describe this behaviour, but "professional" is not in contention.

I still think it was a good investment. I just hope and pray that the rest of the Galadari organisation has some degree of competence to complete this outstanding project.

you should call them on the phone, and spk to Shuba, in the accounts department, she is quite good and will follow it up for you. If you do not have their number, let me know and I will pass it on to you.

Tks for the advice. I now have a contract! Anticipated completion date is 30 June 2009. The "long stop date" is 1 year later. A penalty is payable if the long stop date is exceeded. The penalty is 0.5% interest per month.

I will show the contract to a lawyer, but given that I've shelled out a 10% non-refundable deposit, I suppose that I have a big incentive to sign it!

I saw an ad for a 2 bed for 2.5M. As that's what I paid recently for my 3-bed, I assume that means a big (paper) profit for you!

Galadari is a big name in the UAE, with many projects behind it, but I suspect that CoA is its biggest project so far. The blame for the delays is being placed on Dubai Municipality but then everyone is an expert blame-shifter here. I guess that DubaiLand is just too prestigious project to be allowed to fail, and CoA is phase 1, with WW as the "jewel" of CoA.

But every organisation contains a few ducks and Galadari will be no exception. Do you think that bringing a lawyer into it is worth the expense (c. AED16k+) ?

Here's a link from Dec07 that I came across only today:
[not allowed to insert the link, google "arabian business wadi walk" its an article called "Walking the wadi"]

It is certainly good news. Completion date is 2010? To build 45 story building takes more than 2 years? Isn't it too slow or normal? If G tower completed in 2010, what about others? 2011 or 2012?

I do not see what difference lawyers will make to the progress of any development.

This is a LAndmark project that the Ruler of Dubai will not allow to fail, there is too much at stake here.

Dubai is full of delays and COA is no exception.

Save your money, take the wife and kids out instead, you will find they probably give you better advice than the lawyers in dubai !!

Just enjoy your profits when you make them, in the meantime do not get stresssed....

I can just imageine myself in the gondolla, strolling down the wadi.... what a life !!

Apparently the site vists have been banned for the next 2 weeks, the developers are getting annoyed that too many people are coming over to take a look at what progress has not happened !!!!

Spk soon...
