Default Calling all Al Attar Investors from all developments

Hi Everybody

Seasons greetings and hope everyone is looking forward to 2011. As many of you are aware a new website is currently under construction, this website will be an Al Attar Investors Action Group Website and hopefully will go live towards the end of February. I'm currently designing the page templates for the website but the major problem is I need to fill these pages with information which is where I need the contributions from others who have purchased with Al Attar (sorry I can't do everything by myself). This Website will act as an umbrella for all of Al Attars Developments these being Jumeriah Lake Towers, Business Bay and International City Phase 3. From all developments we work together.

Though our original action group was aimed towards those who purchased in International City Phase 3 I would really like to also hear from those who purchased in Developments in Jumeriah Lake Towers and Business Bay, would welcome scanned images of the Sales brochures (NOT THE CONTRACTS!) so I can bring these images into the website.

I would like to hear people's stories of their dealing with Al Attar Properties and I don't mean the generic story of "In 2005 I agreed to purchase a property in xxxxxxx and have paid xxxxxxxx dhms and nothing has ever been built".........We can all tell that story. I would like to hear from people who have had personal experiences with Al Attar and RERA. Also I appeal to our friends living in Dubai to get images of their AAP's developments whether it be along Sheik Zayed Road, Media City, their shopping mails etc, not to mention images of the current progress of the so called developments we were foolish enough to invest in. We need to show the world Al Attar is not short of a few assets whilst it takes its investors for idiots. Also I need images of Al Attars key personal the likes of Majid and Karim, don't worry about the poor Filipino backroom personnel their just there to do Majids dirty work.

I'll also have a page called "Ask Majid" where we can publish questions so our favorite MD can answer the questions that is if he can be bothered. So feel free to forward questions. And if your reading this Majid, this website is being run by responsible and mature adults who amongst other things just want to hear the truth from you.

Also I would like to hear from those who have tried the legal route and where it got them and as I said experiences with RERA.

I need as much information as possible in order to proceed with this website, contributions would be gratefully received, as I said I cannot do this by myself and don't want a half completed website to go live, we are in this together and we help each other out, whilst showing the world what a corrupt developer Al Attar Properties really is. In this day and age its impossible to avoid the World Wide Web.
Majid you can hide away from your angry investors in your ivory tower, but you can't hide on the internet.

The below email address will be the official website contact address. Please read carefully.

I wish everyone a happy and peaceful 2011.

Kind regards and best wishes to you all.

Hi there

It seems this address is causing some confusion and not very easy to read, unfortunately this site does not allow live email address to be published (the administrators of this site have good reason for this). So I'll try and make it a little easier for those who want to contact us.

Again please read carefully

Default Al Attar - Where is our money?!!!!

An interesting post. Thanks. I am furious that the situation with Al Attar and recovery of monies is still ongoing and indeed showing little signs of progress. Why are they behaving like this? My story is similar to others in that we have purchased off plan in International City, and despite phone calls/emails etc, no monies, but lots of promises. Someone told me once, they don't like to deliver bad news !!
I think this situation has gone beyond a joke now and I fear that the money they have have from us, as Investors, may have been ring fenced for other purposes, such as other developments, Lake Towers etc, BUT IS THIS LEGAL???
Anyway, I think we need to pursue this by consolidating our efforts, as has been previously mentioned in the form of a website which is being set-up. Please do share your views. Although we have all probably written this off, we should not give up. It's NOT right!!

Hi,
Glad to find you ! I have bought 2 apartments in Polaris and that is probably the biggest mistake of my life, not because of the decision to buy, but to trust this company and its MD !! I though his name has credits, and it is a local company. No chance of fraud and running away. But i was totally wrong, and as you see, many other projects belonging to expat developers are built and none of Al attar have been touched !! I don not know what he has done with all the money??? All I know is that construction on his own building in Sh Zayed road is proceeding as usual (according to his staff). This is just illegal, illegal, and illegal. Did anyone talk about law???

Question The new investor in the block !

I am helping my cousin with their purchase of Global point . They live in Iran and it is hard to use internet or join blogs but for the last 3 years they have communicating with Al Attar properties to get their money back. Apparently the land to start the construction has not even purchased completely. They have all the documents ans looking for someone to help them and they like to expose this shameless scam on =internet. I appreciate if anyone can guide me what to do from here. I am glad to find this forum and happy to take the first step.
Thanks

Hi:

There are other investment committees in DSC. I'm sure you know. I've found five, I'm sure there are others. You should all get together and ask for money that has been invested to be spent on the buildings and for contracts to be followed. Every Developer is saying the same thing. Where has the money gone? B/c the money hasn't been spent on the buildings? Contracts just need to be followed. Just asking for basic rights. Good luck!

Hi there

Could you elaborate further on what you said in your previous response. Anyone who has invested with Al Attar Properties will all tell you the same story of corruption and arrogance. And this is on all their developments. It obvious to us all that Al Attar exploited the flawed Dubai Property Laws to their own advantage with no intention of building anything beyond their own interests.
If you know something that we don't then we are all ears.

Kind regards

Hi:

I'm just a frustrated investor like you. Online without a paddle Read some of the awful stories about people loosing their life savings etc I think if everyone gets together or as many as possible we will have a stronger case thats all. Thats all I'm suggesting. We're just asking for what is in the contract, thats it. I'm really angry that Investors have been left to form Committees to get Developers to spend the money they have been given. Wrong... There are Committees that have been formed for years, they've hired PR groups, they've lobbied their MPs, the Foreign Office to just get the work on their buildings started. Better success in numbers... Even if buildings complete though, we need the infrastructure aswell. DSC need to start building aswell. For example, the Els Golf Course Club says it will complete the club house by the end of 2011. Minor detail but important, can't really have a golf course without a club house. We need to keep pushing on all fronts.

Google the Al Boom case, maybe with the new laws aswell coming into play this year will help. Good luck... I can't say I'm optimistic though... Its like the Indoor Swimming Pool wasn't built in DSC. Why?

Hi
i've been surfing these forums for some time now, and frankly i'm tired!!
All you ever read about is people complaining and narrating their own personal stories and experiences and how much money they lost etc etc...
There are many others that have suggested amongst other things to start facebook pages and take this to social media and do this and that....but that too is not materializing. talk of all this has been going on for more than 3 years now. its madness.
HAS SOMETHING BEEN DONE?
IS THERE A LEGITIMATE ACTION GROUP?
HAS ANYBODY RECOVERED ANY MONEY?
DOES ANYBODY HAVE A POSSIBLE SOLUTION THAT ACTUALLY BEEN IMPLEMENTED?

Please do not answer these questions with your own sad story...spare us, we each have our own. what we're looking for is solutions and to join hands with people that are on the right track. my question are for serious people who offer serious solutions.
I'm open for discussion and i'm happy to join forces with others and contribute as long as it's legitimate.

The various answers to your questions are as follows. A lot of people have tried various avenues to bring Al Attar to book. Unfortunately as the law goes in Dubai nothing is transparent and works more often than not in favor of the corrupt developer FACT!

Is there a legitimate group YES! there are various groups with members like myself who are intertwined with each other. But as already stated in the above we can only do so much to help each other...... So what are we doing. Well we have written to the CEO of RERA explaining our plight. A number of people have attempted litigation but without too much success. A website was already to go live but at the last minute upon taking legal advice it was found that such action group websites could be illegal because laws in Dubai don't allow such websites to be published or behavior from individuals though it seems the law in Dubai does allow the taking of money from individuals under the pretense that people are going to get something from it! Hence Al Attar are experts on such things.

The solution is long term, yes it would seem the tide is slowly turning in Dubai with a couple successfully suing Damac which it would seem to be a land mark case. The CEO of RERA is on record stating there will be a lot of cancellations of developments in the coming time, but unfortunately RERA is a closed shop and never announces what developments are cancelled.

Al Attar have never issued a refund to anyone, and someone got back to me recently telling me that Al Attar had stopped refunds some 6 months back. UTTER BULL$%&T! They have never refunded anyone.

So we all work together bouncing off ideas waiting for the laws to change or hope RERA finally gets their finger out and realises our plight. I am aware of other test cases people in similar situations like us but with different developers, will be watching with interest. But the law is still heavily one sided towards the developer despite it being so obvious to everyone else except the authorities that the developer is corrupt!
