Moving to Jeddah

Hi,

I have been offered a job in Jeddah. Can anybody offer me advice on the following:

1. The offer is USD60k perineum + additional benefits. Is it sufficient for a decent living in Jeddah for me, wife and 2 sons

2. Where to find more info on apartment/compound in Jeddah

3. How about the education - international school in Jeddah

Hurray! Someone else is going to Jeddah!

Salary sounds good to me but my job isn't the best paid in the world. Cost of living should be less than US if that's where you are.

If you Google for compounds in Jeddah you'll find some guides. baheyeldin.com/saudi-a...ounds.html is one I just turned up which has links to some compounds.

British Schools in the Middle East (Google BSME) is a guide to British (duh!) schools and you should find some info. Not sure about US or other schools. You could try CIS (Council of International Schools, I think).
