Unhappy Any body heard of Manchester Sports Towers Sports City

Hi, can any body help me please. I have invested in an appartment in Sport City called Manchester Sports Tower 1. The developer is Manchester Real Estates. Has any body else invested with this company? Does any body know anything about them? The appartment has not been started yet despite the completion date being early 2008. I know everything is behind schedule, but they are not very good with updates abd cannot advise on a expected completion date. I am still waiting to sign the contracts, i made my first payment 18 months ago, and was told to stop any further payments over a year ago, and still no progress. any help will be greatly appreciated, i have asked a lawyer in Dubai to check them out but they want £800 for this service which is robbery. Many thanks.

I have had experience with Manchester Real Estate as I bought in their development in JLT originally. They were awful and the development got sold to another arab even though we had paid our deposits so I had to fight to get my refund.

Would not touch anything from Manchester Real Estate.

Default Developers list

Perhaps a useful tool would be to post the Developers name and see if anyone else on here has heard of them. I believe that there are many Real Estate Agents acting like they are developers when they are not. Does not reflect well on the legitimate developers. But as Escrow comes into line the ability for the wild cards to sell property that either does not exist or is in fact someone elses property should be diminished.

Not saying this company is not a developer but we have never heard of them and we could not find them either.

I am currently dealing with Manchester Real Estate. I bought in their development Manchester tower 1 now said to be completed, over a year late. I now need to go out ther to collect my keys. When I called their Dubai office, they could not tell me how long I would need to be in Dubai for the legal requirements i.e registrations and so on. I feel that I am hanging in limbo. Does anyone know what I have to do and how long it will take? Not a glowing report!!!

I believe in going with good developers. Pay a little more and get peace of mind. It would be worthwhile to doing a ground check before investing.

I agree with Roshan.I feel that authorities are in the process of eliminating such un reliable developers from the market but it will take time and they cant be successful in totality , so each buyer should make thorough investigation about the property and the developer. If required ,one should not hesitate to visit Dubai 2 -3 times before finalising .
