Too Many Promotional Posts?

Hi All,

Over the last few days a lot of promotional talk has hit the forum mostly from new agents who are not taking any notice of the terms and conditions they have agreed to in order to access the forum.
What I will say once again is ,Please read the rules and regulations if you are unsure about anything or ask any moderator for clarification,it really is so easy no selling no promoting on this section of the forum.HOPE THIS HELPS.

Many agents tend to state that they are un-biased towards any particuar development over another. But surely that can't be true, it is only human nature to promote that which will give you monetary gain.

So can these agents really be taken at their word when they say thay are giving their fair, honest and un-biased opinions on a certain development.

Please comment. Again constructive comments are welcomed by all.

I can say with complete truth that i am totally independent and un-biased as far as my business is concerned. I am fortunate that i don't need the money and therefore do this to keep myself active and at the same time try to help people find their ideal home/holiday apartment.

Interesting point Red but total nonsense; a Developer has a vested interest in one product, an agent is appointed by his client to find the best project within a given budget. If we fail to deliver on this basic point we will be out of business. Commissions do vary from project to project but overall this balances out. I would rather have happy clients than worry if I could have earned an extra percent or two by selling somewhere else. We are probably amongst the least biased contributors to the forum.

You make an interesting point too. But what if as an agent you are not selling a certain development and your asked for advice on this board. Would you make it clear to the poster that you don't market the product or would you do that and then point him to something that you are selling???

When I say we are unbiased I mean what I say. I will always give my opinion to a client if asked why we do not list a particular project. However, sometimes projects are not listed because we are waiting for sales materials or prices from Developers. Our website has a back end where all of this information can be downloaded by our agents.
