I do wish Derek and karen all the best with this venture and know he will do a fantastic job of it.

But my point of view is if the developers just want to make a forture out of us normal people that buy off plan with alot of faith in them,
then they run away when the complicated things occur like looking after clients after sale needs then in my view DO NOT BUY OFF THEM and fill there pockets with you hard earned cash.

Does anyone else agree with me?

Thanks Jayne

Hi Jayne
I think your Developer is an absolute treasure if he does all those things for you! He should run courses on how to be a caring Developer. It doesn't sound like the same guy that Lyndhurst Park was planning to take to court!! Are we talking about the same Developer here?

I know now a few people now that have bought into the oasis developments and out of the hundreds of apartments being sold one compaint about if my memory serves me right an extra floor being build, and that he did not want his money back because for some reason and we have never heard from him again says to me the problem must have been solved.
says to me they can not be a bad company and in my case they seve me well and give me piece of mind.
I do understand that there is a opening for this sevice but should there be if homework is done properly?
and knowing Derek and Karen they will do a fantastic job of it and I wish them all the look in the world from my heart.

Hi Jayne,

I hear what you are saying but I agree with awahee123 and I would endorse using Derek & Karen to look after my property. There are some good reasons fro this but the main one is I trust Derek and Karen to give an honest service.

Your developer may be good as gold but in terms of property checking is he going to really tell you when holes start appearing in the workmanship etc and there may be a cause for you to make a claim against him under the so called builders gaurantee?

If there were any structural defects in my apartment or complex I would trust Derek (who is also a retired builder) to notify me so that I could take it up with the developer and get the developer to repair the problem.

In addition in terms of meet and greet etc im sure any English tourists having any difficulties whilst on holiday would feel more comfortable with an english couple from Bolton being close by and contactable especially if any emergencies arose eg advice on hospitals, doctors etc

Once my apartment is ready i will be calling on Derek & karen.

Regards

Westmids33

I agree you should have a choice, The developers should provide this sevice and yes it is up to you weather you use someone else or not.

We have the choice weather to use our developers or not at the end of the day it is our Apartment.

But with some developers they are not thinking of the bigger picture just the quick kill and that gets my back up.

Everyone who has bought have put alot of faith and very hard earned cash or maybe remorgaged there own homes for this. you do need to be reasured that the developers are not going to take that and not help when the project is finished.

I know I pay a charge for this but you would anyway. Do the company's building other blocks not do this?
Hi
If the company you are buying from offers an "all in service" and you're happy to pay them and the service "works" for you then that's great and no need to go anywhere else. Many developers will start out maybe as the "management" team and then pass on to someone else. If you are contracted by the developer to use the "chosen" management team then you could have a problem - so check your initial contract -.

BUYER Beware - BEFORE you buy - if you want to rent commercially a "personal" service will not always be the best answer in the long term either.

What you need is to control the management company yourself as part of an Owners Group of somekind where your original contract allows you to do this - then you can have any sort of mix and match of personal and commercial management - as offered at the smaller developments like Red Sea Residencia, for example.

You could certainly give peace of mind by doing this before and after each rental. In my experience its better to do this properly rather than take on too many properties and do half a job. I think you have a great opportunity to think it through, set it up properly and have many happy owners singing your praises.
(Don't worry! My consultancy fees are quite reasonable....!!!)
Peter has a good point here. How many people can one small team collect and deliver to from airport from the same flight, and clean and prepare on the same day - most UK flights arriving on a Friday at the moment (most people will be renting Friday to Friday I guess).

For the lucky few that Derek may offer this to I've no doubt that it could be much better than a "company".

Get you order in soon !!!

..
Good luck with the extra work Derek (any photos of the "cleaning kit" yet).
