Dear Property Watch, I think that your idea to manage rentals and look after property is very interesting but I think that it will take more time than you think. First you will need a bus for the Friday pick ups from the airport. You will also have to keep your phone on 24 hours. People being people, will call 2am when they come in from the pub and misplaced their keys. I think that a good developer should deliver their properties with management in place. But I also believe that there should be a place for private enterprise like your own.

Now your property watch idea is all positive for me. I think that all developers should be required to provide regular updates. But I accept that most do not. So to fill this gap your services will be invaluable! Reading this forum, I can see that most of the developments are not like the Oasis projects. In these cases your services can put peoples minds at rest. I think that charging a fee is more than reasonable. I hope that your business idea becomes very successful.

My addition to propertywatch1 isn't to manage rentals but to provide a personal service that is sadly lacking here in Hurghada. It is something us Brits call a home from home service......... that personal touch that is needed.

I have never hinted on taking on the rental side thats a mine field. But to add the personal touches like welcome packs arrival and departure service alongside the invaluable information and local knowledge i have gained whilst living here.

I think to be able to keep an eye on the property both before during and after the client has left will give peace of mind to the apartment owner who will be back in the UK feeling assured that someone has taken the time to look after his investment.

Transport will and has never been a problem whether it be car or mini bus i have access to both.
