Default New Business Idea

Hello
As a newbie to this forum I am surprised by the amount of people buying in Hurghada who are totally in the dark regarding their developements.
The completion dates are way off track on most and the quality of finishing is poor.
I am not in real estate ....my wife and i came out for early retirement so have no hidden agenda but living here as given us an insight to how people are being treated here.
The main 2 complaints we constantly hear are the completion dates being way off target and the poor finishing quality.
To stop the boredom we had an idea of helping people with their furniture for their apartments as sourcing good quality furniture is difficult here.but we have an excellenter carpenter with a large workshop who can make custom built furniture at a fraction of the cost from the shops here.So our idea was to help people in this regard.
Now another business idea has come from the various postings ....keeping the people back in the UK up to date with their developement by taking photos and emailing them also keeping an eye on their finishing.

What do you think?

I agree! I know first hand that 'Redsea Furniture' has no hidden agenda here and the information they can pass on is priceless as they are actually in Hurghada full time! They have helped us no end!

Hello

As i have received positive feedback from both developers and purchasers of property i am going ahead with my idea of a totally independent property watch.

My aims are to keep clients up to date with their own developements by regular photos and emails and regular site inspections to see how their developements are progressing.
To report on the quality of workmanship on their own apartment and if their developement will be ready by their stated completion dates.
By this i can alleviate the stress of the UK purchaser as i can keep tabs on their developement as i am living here in Hurghada.

After being here for over 12 months now i feel i have gained some knowledge of Hurghada and the various developements here.

I think a one off fee of £25 is fair to give clients peace of mind from their intial purchase of their property to the handing over of the key. This would cover the regular site inspections, photos and emails etc.Which many of you know could take many months until completion.

Intially i will just be covering the Hurghada area as this is the area i know....from The Palma Resort in the north to the intercontinental area in the south.

I will call it........ "PROPERTY WATCH"

please PM me for further details.

Hi Jayne
yes we are from bolton.
Glad to hear you had no problems with iraiada. Most of the agents here are good..the only problems are from late completion dates and not being kept fully informed. This where i have seen a gap in the market ..where i keep purchasers back in the UK up to date with their own apartment on their own developement ...by taking regular photos and sending detailed reports back...fully independent from the developer.

HI

We must be one of the lucky ones, Iriada had its own web site with monthly updates, and any questions they where able to help they worked with red sea properties in the UK too who helped alot, the completion was delivered on time well abit early than stated, and the finishing of the apartment was to a very high standard we had a turnkey price so everything was there. We came over in June and made friends with a couple who owned a bar nearby and they were very helpful, We just can't wait for the kids to get older so we can live over there.

Thanks Jayne

Hopefully you are not so "lucky" to be one of the few who get regular updates - I suspect what we are seeing here is that people on this forum have something to complain about, and this is a good place to get help, however I am sure that there are lots of developments in Hurghada where owners are getting good news and regular updates - I have daily photos of my site and pass on some of these every two weeks or so.

Please do not assume that delays and poor quality is the "norm".

Hopefully over the next few weeks everyone will start to see good and not so good.

...
