Does any one want any pics of anywhere else taken eg Naama, Il Mercato?? We will probably spend a day at the new waterpark in Hadaba so will try and take some pics there as well.
Hi Alison

this may sound like a bizarre request but do you know the measurements of the kitchen area (back and side wall) for the units

just really so that we can try to plan the space

thanks

Anita

We chose Sharm in Egypt for several reasons, Tracey, my partner, has always had a fascination with Egypt from quite an early age and managed with a group of friends to spend her ?? birthday on a Nile cruise and absolutely loved Egypt, so much so that the following year she did a charity cycle ride of almost 500 Km alongside the Nile from Cairo to Aswan then on to Luxor. We then decided to learn to scuba dive in England and when we qualified decided to go somewhere that was highly rated for its diving. We liked it so much that after a very short but serious discussion period decided to give it a try out there, and also of course it gets us out of the rat race that is the UK now. As to taking things with us, basically just the clothes we stand up in and of course our dive kit, The hassle of packing everything and arranging shipping then dealing with Egyptian Customs Officials is just a bit daunting. Also I believe their import duty is very high. Apparently if you import books ( and I have a rather large collection ) an Egyptian Official has to read them all from cover to cover to ensure nothing untoward is brought into the country, I say apparently because there seems to be a lot of contradictory information out there about what non-Egyptians can and cant do.

Jeff.
congratulation Jeff on your purchase and welcome on board in our online family

Default Nabq Bay - What's it like?

Hi
Can you tell me a bit about Nabq Bay, how far/long from main Sharm is it, and the airport. Does it still come under Sharm,

Generally speaking how does it compare with main Sharm and Naama bay etc, is it being developed much?

tnx

Hi Kerry - Nabq is an up and coming area and is still in Sharm. It is about 10 min drive from the airport and about 20 to Naama. You can get on a minibus from here to Naama for 2le and all the way to Old Market for 3le as opposed to about £7 ( 70le ) each way by taxi.

There are quite alot of developments being built here. The prices are quite cheap here but are increasing all the time. There are 3 main malls called Jasmine Centre, La Strada and Al Khan where you will find lots of shops, bars, restaurants, banks etc. Colona watersport ( amongst others ) are based on the beach at Nabq. There are quite alot of hotels along here such as LTI Grand Azure, Frst Choice Holiday Village, Park Inn - see this map and click on the Nabq region Sharm El Sheikh mapy i hotele
Basically it is very flat and it is on one main road with the beach to the right if you are heading from the airport and most of the developments and the 3 malls on the left - mountain side.
There is a new lounge called the Zone Lounge at La Strada and also St Georges Brit pub - where you can get 50% off food and drink if a resident - at Jasmine. Burgerking is in Nabq along with lots of others - they are attracting more known brands such as Puma, La Senza, Adidas etc.
Compared to Naama bay it is alot quieter - at the moment - and you do not get hassled half as much as you do in Naama and Old Market - which is worse than Naama.
The Coral at Nabq goes out quite along way and you need to access the sea via the jettys.
It tends to be a little cooler here - bit windier - which is welcome in the high heat.
Hard Rock will be coming soon as well.

Hi Anita - thanks for that - I double checked the email and there is nothing on the bottom - just says
Also kindly contact the Sierra Resort as well 10 days before you come to Sharm El Sheikh to prepare your property to be ready for handover

Will let you know what the developer says - I emailed him on 9th so effectively he has been given a months notice by us.

Default Update

Hi all

Just had a response from the developer.

He said that they are having a bit of a nightmare at the moment due to the DAFOS International Summit being held in Sharm. When these meetings happen the security forces evacuate all workers from the building sites. They will not be back on site until 24th May and I do feel for Tarek the developer because he has 20 owners coming out on the 20th and no workers on site!!

He has informed me that mine should be ready for when we fly out on 7th June and to email him again at the end of May so he can then arrange for anything else missing to be fixed!

Watch this space.
