Hi Tony - your welcome - just wish we could have done more but we were rushed. The meters are individual ones and are pre paid. I enquired about this a while ago as I heard that we had to pay extra for the meters and this is the response I received via Skype

Concerning the handover kindly be informed that every client of Sierra Resort will have to pay upon handover 2,300 LE for water and electricity meters, electricity card which will be recharged with 650 LE, 1000 LE insurance for water to be paid in advance refundable if you sell the apartment. To understand the insurance is if somebody use water and don’t pay for it.... (which is logic). So the total makes 3,950 LE.
I dont really understand the Insurance part of the water?? I was going to get Tarek to clarify this but he wasnt around when we went into the office.
Our apartment is very nearly there. The front door is now locked up which is a good sign. We would not have accepted the keys because this would have meant that we would then have had to pay the above there and then and also the £1500 maintenance fee. The reason we did not is because it was not quite complete eg window in bathroom to be installed and smoke detector. Balcony and railings need finishing and garden landscaping. Also the entrance to the block is not finished along with the landscaping and the pool around our zone. It wont be long though - within a month. Mostafa will soon start furnishing it and he has drawn up a contract to state it will be furnished by 8th August. We have booked to go back Oct but I may nip over for a long week end in August to check everything and if all is complete then hand over the above monies. Mostafa ( he used to work for SRE ) said that he believes there will be an office on the development where we can top up the pre payment cards for the meters. Personally I think this is a much better idea than having a bill. If you rent it out then it can be topped up by the tenant. There does not appear to be any news on the hotel eg what chain has bought it yet. They are still working on the hotel buildings, restaurant etc as well. We were really impressed with the amount of workers on site and they really seemed to be getting stuck into it as opposed to standing around. Through interpreter the site agent said our pool and landscaping will be ready within a month and Paul ( he is a foreman and builds new houses and flats in the UK ) said this will be achieved easily within the month. They were marking out the pool and landscaping on the Zone behind us. They had cleared up our Zone alot from the Sunday til the Thursday to get ready for marking out etc. I imagine now a week down the line it has already moved on and would suspect that the pool has now been concreted. Lynn and Ryan are still out there and were going to make a few more visits so hopefully they will give us another update and some pictures etc.

Hi Stunchelle - are you sending the emails to his new address - see front of the forum for his email change. I didnt meet up with him last week but Darren ( In2tense ) did. I think he is on holiday this week. Once you have signed the contract on every page it then goes to the developer who also signs it on every page then to Zeiad who starts the process of registering it in the Courts in Cairo. This process can take anything from 6 months to a year.
Ask SRE if the developer has signed it and if it has been forwards to Zeiad.

Alison
Thanks for that, yes i send the mails to his new address,SRE received our contracts earlier in the week & mailed us to say they were going to be sent to the developer.....we are back in Sharm Sept 18th for 4 days then we are off a Nile cruise for a week then back to Sharm for the last 3 days so we can hopefully see people while we are there & get lots of updates for our apartment....our contract says Dec 31st for the handover, but can't see that happening......we will be happier if it hangs out till March as we are back there for a week then & could tie things up

Hi Stunchelle - I have emailed Zeiad again so await his reply. If you remember and have time can you try and take pics of the entrance to 40A2 and the pool area if you go on site please. Really envy you going on the cruise. Have you done one before - what ship. Paul and I loved it and would love to do it again in luxury on the new Sonesta one.

Hi everybody

I met up with Zeiad and his family for a few drinks whilst in Sharm and he is at the moment setting up his own offices in Hadaba.

I find the best way to contact him is by phone as he usually answers, straight away.

I also met up with the owners of block 16 - C1+C2 who have now had their keys handed over to them and they are a lovely couple.

Hi Chelle - yes this is possible. Four Seasons can arrange everything see Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh Wedding - Wedding details Ritz Carlton also do weddings The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh: Weddings iThere is a company based in Sharm that makes all the arrangements as well. I have it somewhere on my laptop and will have a look for you.
The Marriott also do weddings - there are probably quite a few of the top hotels that do now.
