Hi all

Apparently my apartment is ready...hoooorrraayyy

I have booked a flight and fly out on Monday ( on my own! ) for a week. I need to snag the apartment and if happy pay for the electric and water meters along with the maintenance. SRE will then hand me the keys so Mostafa can then get on with furnishing it.

I will make sure I take plenty of batteries and memory. SRE will no doubt take me on site themselves but I will make sure that they DO NOT rush me this time and if they need to go then they can and leave me to it. I will go around to all your apartments ( if you want me to ) and video the progress in and out of those that I can gain access to. I will take some pics as well.

As I am going on my own I will have alot of time on my hands and to while away the time I will find an internet cafe and download the videos and pics so watch this space next week. I will prob go on site on the Tuesday and report back and then if anyone wants me to go back I will.

Just got to find some accomodation now! The prices for the hotels have shot up as well. I couldnt find a package with a half decent hotel for less than £700.

If anyone on site speaks English I will ask them when they expect each Zone to be finished. Hopefully it has changed a bit more in the last month or so.

I will take my own map with me marking off all your apartments so Im sure I have the right ones.

I could always take a sleeping bag and sleep on my floor!

Alison

Hi Alison

Thanks to you and iain for replying to our first message and congrats on getting your apt. Dawn and I have been going to Sharm for the last four years mainly for the diving for me and the weather for Dawn. We decided to purchase a property last November and did so through SRE. We did get plenty of info at the start and the solicitor responded quickly to our questions. We arranged POA in the UK and signed the contracts. The solicitor was unhappy with the originals and sent new ones for signature. They were returned to him months ago but despite several e mails we have heard nothing from him.
The offer to visit our apt 17C in Zone 4 would be appreciated as some news is better than none particularily when it will be ready.
A general question would be are there any good flight options that anyone has found.
Where could we get furniture for the roof terrace sunbeds table and chairs etc.
I see that your trip is quite expensive. We use Explorers, They are a divers website but their deals are very competitive. Hilton now for £469 1 week B&B.

Hope all goes well

Thanks Linda, Lou, JohnDawn and Dawn. Cant wait to get my hands on those keys now lol.

John and Dawn - I will with pleasure video your apartment in and out if I can. Your Zone was coming along and the Zone to the left of you if you look at the development was very nearly finished.

Mostafa will be able to supply and deliver garden furniture including sun loungers. His email is info@idea4furniture.com - tell him Alison recommended him and if he can give you an idea of prices and any sample pics etc. He is really lovely and has helped me out heaps.

You are a regular Sharmers and got the bug then if you have been going for the last 4 yrs lol. Our 1st visit was 3 years ago and havent looked back.

That is a good price - what Hilton was it for as there are a few?

I managed to get a room at a brand new hotel called Shams Suite in Nabq which is managed by Jaz Mirabel grp. It was only £140 for 8 nights all inclusive including transfer. There are only 48 rooms so quite nice and friendly I hope as I am on my own. Thought it better to book a smaller one as tends to be easier to meet people rather than staying in a larger resort where I prob wouldnt bump into the same people again. It is near to Al Khan and La Strada malls so ideal really for nipping back and forth to Sierra on foot.

Alot of the prices on the internet ( I have searched everywhere today from about 6.30 this morning until about 5pm! ) are not live and as soon as you book you get an email saying the flight is no longer available. One had loads of packages for under £500 and when I called them the cheapest live price they had ( due to the flights ) was nearly £700!

All in I got it for about £510 all incl which also included single supplemancy as well as transfer so thought that wasnt too bad for last minute mid July.

Mc D's is just down the road so Im hoping I have enough room in hand luggage to take laptop with me.

Thanks Anita - need some sun after all this rain!

You just need to email Mostafa and he will send you all the details and some pics of furniture. You can pick your choices from the pics or send him your own suggestions that they can replicate. I have picked out designs and colours and left him to match up the curtains, rugs and pictures. He said if I dont like his choice then he will easily replace. I have every confidence in him after speaking to him as he seemed to know exactly what we wanted.

Another forum member has also emailed him and got all the details and he will prob order via email. You can pay the deposit via transfer and once received Mostafa will draw up the contract. He needs 60 days notice. 65% deposit is required and the balance is on completion and delivery.

Its something now to start considering, getting organised.

He has finished furnishing another apartment on Sierra so I will get his perission to post the pics here. What he has done really makes a difference to the apartment and we are glad we didnt go with the SRE package now. You get alot more for your money and even the kitchen looks 10 times better.

Hopefully I can get into your apartment. I will remember to wear trainers this time and not flip flops!
