Hi all, it is lovely to see how lively our forum is. Alison, we can not wait to see you pictures you are so lucky to have it all sorted. Hope the building site is not too noisy for you to start enjoying it. My friends Nick and Bev bought 52C1/2. They know about the forum and will join us soon. Has anyone found cheep flights from Gatwick or Stansted yet? I can not find anything below £300. Is that an average?
Kamila

Its certainly been a frustrating few weeks what with all the goings on at MABR. I am going to try and get out there in 3 weeks time to have a good look at the finishing details of the apartment. That depends on work though as I am so busy at the moment. I want to compile my own snag list and then hopefully when we go back out to egypt in october all the snagging items will have been done. I think Louise said that your husband works in construction, I am a site manager myself.
I will tell Louise that when I go in 3 weeks time it is work and not a holiday. I will just have to try and hide my dive gear

My over all impression of Sierra is good, I like the way they have designed the layout. Obviously in 3 to 4 years time it will look fabulous when the trees and shrubs have started to mature.

We were sent some photos today of the tiling in our apartment and it appears that we have different tiles to you. Have you been in any of the other units ?

I also think I just read that your husband will be going out there shortly, would he be able to take some photos of our apartment ( inside and out ) just in case I am unable to get out there myself in 3 weeks time.

When we go there in october we will miss you by a day, which is a shame. We will try and re arrange it so we go there when you are there. Louise has told me how helpful you have been and it would be nice to buy you a drink or two for your help.

We are doing a diving liveaboard for a week out of Marsa and then we are going to stay with some friends of ours at El Qusir. We were going to use our last day ( de gassing day ) to come up to Sierra, but we might change it so that we come sooner.

All the best, Stew

Hi Stew - look forward to those cold Sakaras.

Yes hubby is in construction. He isnt going out soon - no way would he be able to go without me - I can go without him tho lol.

I think you have just dug yourself a hole tho Stew - ref working holiday and dive gear - you do realise Lou will be on soon and will read your post lol.

All the apartments I have seen had the same tiles - can you ask Lou to forward the pic for me. When I 1st saw the pics of the tiles I hated them but then when I saw them in the flesh they were better and will look better once cleaned. I think most of the furniture and rugs will hide the floor tiles. The sinks, baths, loo etc are really good quality.

Bet you cant wait to get out there and see it. To be honest I didnt find anything wrong with the interior of ours apart from a good clean. Hubby ( he isnt a member on here ) told me what to look for and the plastering was really smooth with no cracks, all the doors fitted well and opened and closed ok. The front door is a good quality one as well with 3 locks into the frame and are fire ones from UK. There are also smoke alarms fitted as well as phone points ( phone will be supplied along with sat receiver ) and there are also 2 internet points. There were plenty of plug points as well. The windows all worked well and patio door and they all had interior locks on them. There were a few areas outside that I pointed out to them but relatively minor. Overall I was pleased with the overall finish inside.

It would be great if you could come sooner as would love to show you around and take you both up to La Strada and Al Khan as well xx

I purchased apartment 17b2, back in March. I havn't been able to go out to Sharm since then but have booked to go back out on the 10th September, so im looking forward to seeing quite a few changes!

I have purchased the SRE furniture package, the reason I did this was because I was told I wouldn't be able to rent it back to the Hotel which is something I may decide to do if I do struggle to rent the property out whilst im not there.

Has anyone gone with the SRE funiture package? And if so what do u think?

If anyone has any news on how far my down the line my apartment has got with being furnished that would be really helpful. Im told from the developer that apartments in my phrase are already being handed over.

James

He everyone,
We are not due out to Nabq until the first week of december so if anyone is out there before then it would be greatly appreciated if you could photo/video the inside and outside of 25a1 for us.

Thankyou
Wayne & Fee

Hi Kamila - if you book early enough with Easyjet you can get some bargains. I booked in Jan for 2 weeks n October and paid just £100 each. I have booked for Dec 16th til 28th and it was £180 each. They have some good prices still for next March. Freedom Flights are quite good as well.

I will report back on the building noise x

Hi James and welcome to yet another neighbour.

Im sure Lyn and Ryan have bought the furniture package from SRE. I met them when I was in Sharm in June and there apartment was not completely ready but they were staying another couple of weeks. Maybe if they are still reading the forum they will come on and let you know about the pack.

SRE thought that I was going with the SRE packaage and they contacted me a couple of weeks before handover to ask for the balance of the furniture pack so they furniture could be ordered.

Congratulations all x

Hi James
Stu & I went for the furniture package as the easy option & also we were thinking of renting our flat out through the hotel,it seems ok to us,will know more when we actually get the keys which wont be until the end of the yr.
We are in Sharm Sept 18th for 2 weeks so will find out how our place is coming along then.
Stu will be taking plenty of pics so he will post them so you can see the progress of Sierra Resort
