Default Visit to Sierra 25 Aug for a week

Hi all Sierra neighbours/ neighbours to be...

I will be visiting the sierra site during week commencing 25th Aug and will do my best to take pics of appartments etc for any of you who would like an update.

Whether I'll manage to post the pics with the efficiency of Alsion (Queenie40something) is another matter but will do my best.

Suggest you PM requests to me or just reply to this post.

Also would be great if anybody else out there who would meet for a drink or whatever as I'll be on my own for this trip

So get in touch and I'll do my David Bailey bit

Iain

Default Last Will and Testament.

Good morning to you all.

To the Moderators, this posting may seem ' Off Topic ' but if you read it fully you may agree it has some relevance here.

Whilst I am aware there is a thread already running with regards to Legal Issues, I thought I would bring up the subject here, as having viewed the thread regarding Wills I noticed there is not a lot of discussion or information on the subject. Also there are only a couple of users of this ( Sierra Resort ) particular thread that have been active regarding the Will thread. I am placing this post here because I believe it is an important subject that we all should be dealing with as soon as possible, and as you are probably aware we are buying property on Sierra Resort, so this forum is of particular interest to us and of course to all of you.

This week Tracey and I looked into writing our Wills as we are not married and have two children each. We wish to make sure that things are sorted out the way we would like them to be and not leave it to a person who knows nothing of us and our wants and needs. Having spoken to our bank ( HSBC ), it transpires that writing a will in the UK is no great deal, you can even do it yourself. The thing is, a UK will cannot deal with property and assets held in a foreign country, and as usual there is a lot of mis-information regarding the writing of Wills in Egypt. I believe you are required by law in Egypt to process your Will through a Solicitor for it to be valid there, of course I stand to be corrected if anyone has the definitive answers about this subject.

We will be in Sharm' for two weeks from 7 September and will try to find out more about this subject whilst we are there. Of course, should we obtain any usefull information, we will post it here.

Also, Tracey is going to be tied up for two days doing her Rescue Diver Course which leaves me two days to myself, so I will be spending some time at the 'building site soon to be called home' , so should any of you have specific requirements regarding pictures then let me know and I will do my best to accomadate you.

One more thing, I mentioned above doing your UK Will yourself, please do not jump on me for mentioning this. There is plenty of information on the internet about doing this, including British Government web sites. Yes there can be pitfalls, but a little bit of research can go a long way to doing things right.

Jeff'.

Hi Ian,

If you have the time could you check out 17C2 for us please told it is nearing completion but have heard no more confirmation of a date - would help us decide whether to book for end of September for our visit to Egypt or to hold off. If you manage any pictures that would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Johnanddawn

Hi Iain if you could take pics of mine in and out. I will tell Mostafa that you have my permission for him to take you to see the furnished apartment and the pool, garden landscaping would be great as well. I really enjoyed spending hours ( and days lol ) going round the site taking pics and vids of everyones. Its a great way to see the other zones and take in all whats progressing. I could do it for a living if my David Bailey skills were up to scratch!!

I may even get to fly out as well Iain so email me your mobile and if I do get out I will text you love to meet up for a drink and maybe a wander round on site together xx

Hi Jeff - I agree with your post and the point you are getting across especially as it is such an important issue. We have had our children added to the contract so there names will also be on the lease and they will not have to apply for a new one should anything happen to us. I am still researching about a will and if anyone has done this to include please let us know costs etc.

I have made a post to Zeiad in his legal thread for him to take a look at the will thread and for his advise etc.

Any website links that anyone finds can be posted on the will thread ( as long as they dont include forums they are allowed )

Great post Jeff thanks x
