Hi John and Dawn - yes it was Intasure - there is a thread on this here http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/egypt...ing-money.html

I am an Insurance Underwriter so have shopped around the market and compared cover, excesses etc. You can get it cheaper in Egypt but my prof advise is dont. The public liability is nothing and you could end up having to dig very very deep into your own pockets. Also if you make a claim you will need to call them in Egypt - lost in translation!!!

Intasure are specialist holiday home insurers. I spent weeks and weeks researching and if anyone thinks they found a better deal with better cover then please post in the above thread.

BTW your welcome and this is what these forums are for from giving advise, learning etc from each other xxx

Hi Chelle - was that a private transfer or a shuttle one??

Medhotels do about the same price as what you have said but as shuttle.

Sharm Club do private transfers for £8 each way regardless of the number of people. We used them in June for 4 of us and had a private new air con mini bus that seated 12. It was great as we didnt have to wait for all the other transfer guests to get their luggage and go to all the other hotels. we were literally straight out of airport in the minibus on our way and straight to the hotel.

If anyone wants a car and driver for the week I have been given details of a company in Sharm that charge 70 euros a week.

Hi Chelle - I just went on the site to get a price for me on my own and it is £4.29 each way by shuttle and £9.64 by private transfer. But I noticed that it said

Please be aware that this service will only drop and pick clients up at recognised holiday accommodation.

So as we are not ' recognised ' yet and the hotel is not in brochures etc they may not accomodate us.

Thanks Chelle - bit wary as Im on my own and arrive unearthly hour of around 05.30am!! Did you have to enter the hotel name when you booked online - if I enter Sierra they will think it is the Sierra hotel which is the other way. If I dont need to enter it I might book it - I know someone else based in Nabq that is offering private transfers for £5 per car each way which is really cheap but I have not tried them and not heard anyone recommending them so again bit wary as dont want to be stranded that time of the morning - also dont want to walk out on main road to get a cab.

Thanks again

Alison

Thanks Chelle - I tried medhotels and it comes up with a list of all the hotels so cant use them. Will try yours - even if I put in Magic sea life and get off there and walk across the road.
