Hi Craig - we also paid cash in full a while back. I would suggest you choose your lawyer, scan and email him the contract and pay his fee. Once he is happy then sign all pages and return to SRE. One tip Zeiad gave us was that if you have children ensure that they are all added to the contract with their passports numbers ( yours should also be on the contract ) and then you ALL sign every page as well. The contract should be in English and Arabic.

As you havent got a lawyer yet have you got Power of Attorney?? You will need to give POA to your lawyer to proceed with registration. We ( and In2 ) went to El Tor when we were in Sharm but this can be done in the UK but is more expensive. You cannot proceed with the registration without this. Let me know if you need more help etc.

I think I have read somewhere though that you cannot register until the building is 65% completed - but could be wrong.

Regards

Alison

I wouldn't have thought it was possible to obtain a PoA until you've employed a lawyer? As PoA is authorising a specific named lawyer to act on your behalf. Regarding kids, I understood from Zeiad that it is not really necessary include kids on contracts as Egyptian law dictates that children are automatically next of kin and will inherit their parents assets. Wouldn't have thought this is different for Hurghada purchase, but maybe it is?

That was my point Suzi ref POA - making sure that you get a lawyer as POA is needed to give to the appointed lawyer - also dont forget we are talking about leasehold in Sharm here and not freehold where you are buying in Hurh so it is different with regards to adding children to the contract ref 99 yr lease xx

Hi Suzi - yes it does make a difference - basically if they are on the contract the remainding lease automatically falls to them without them having to re apply for a new lease and paying the 10,000 fee as per the contract with the developer.

just wondered how many of you guys have been using excel airways for your flights and I hope noone has got them booked for the future now with today's news. i must admit I was really really shocked it was excel. I never thought they were that cheap so I am wondering if they can go into administration how safe is booking lots of flights with Easyjet (which I was going to do in January) since some of their flights are really cheap.

What do you guys think

Lou
