Hi all I have emailed the developer this morning and had a respoonse ( as usual ) within the hour.

I asked him if we got a choice of bath or shower and he said yes as the price is the same for either - just let him know.

Ref tiles - asked if we had a choice and he said no but they will be able to put in different tiles at your own cost. I have emailed him back to ask if he has any samples of diff styles a and colours and what the extra cost will be.

He has agreed that if need be I can out a fence around my garden to stop my grandson toppling over the edge.

I asked if I could have the small window in the kitchen bricked up as this will make designing the fitted kitchen easier and will be able to get more units in. He said no as he wants the exterior of all the buildings kept the same which is fair enough.

I will see if my carpenter can block it from the inside and then fit units across.

Iain caught up on emails and pics look good

Regards

Alison

Hello there to all members. I'm new to this game and stumbled across this forum last night. Me and the better half are buying a 2/3 bed apt at the Sierra resort, and have found the info on this site very useful. There are obviously loads of questions to ask but won't go into them all in one go. One important one which I think Alison will be able to answer regards the solicitor, Zeiad. Is he the one recommended by SRE? And did you find him easy to work with. We've just had our contracts returned duly stamped by the developer and are going out in May to try and resolve one or two issues. we wanted to make some slight alterations which would have included moving the front door, but like someone else on the forum were told this would not be possible as they want all the outsides to be the same. we woukld also like to alter the interior slightly and swap one of the bedrooms with the living room. this may be possible but will need to speak directly with the developer we think. we were interested in the thoughts regarding furniture and like you feel that the package offered is not really the most cost effective. It would be good to have your contacts regarding this. Any one got any views.

Hi Jayte and welcome to the forum. Its great to have yet another neighbour on board. What number have you bought?

You might find this thread useful http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/egypt...rty-egypt.html

Zeiad was recommended to me by another buyer on Sierra - last count ( last yr ) he was representing 25 Brits on Sierra. His English is very good and he answers your queries very quickly via emial. I dont know if SRE recommend him though. You can post any queries on his legal thread and he is always more than happy to give advise.

I dont know whether you have read the furniture thread but here is the link http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/egypt...ure-egypt.html

Im sure I have posted a link on it with details of Rowaysat where you will find carpenters, eltrical items, paint etc etc.

Let me know if you want the developers email address - again he responds quite quickly as well.

What handover date have you been given?

Regards

Alison

Thanks Alison. We've bought in block 65 which I think will be the last phase. Our completion date is not until next April so there's plenty of time to sort things out. I've already contacted the developer by e mail regarding our possible alterations and like you he was very quick to reply. He said to see him when we go over in May.
Does the solicitor have a web site or e mail address and what are his fees. SRE quoted me around £600 to do the full lot incuding POA.
I've seen the furniture thread and again the info posted will come in very handy when we get to that stage

Hi Jaytee if you look on the legal thread http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/egypt...rty-egypt.html Zeiads email is on his 1st post.

He charged us £500 for a one bedroom. I dont know if his prices have increased or not since last year. Where will you be staying in Sharm in May?

Alison, we will be staying at the Oriental. Friends of ours have a 2 bed apt there. They've had it 4/5 years now and we've been 3 times. Nearly bought one on the same site but the vendor wanted too much. It was only a 1 bed, but it's a great location.

Hi Jaytee - not stayed on the Oriental. Have a great time and it will be great if you can take some pics and post them on here on your return. Must admit that the site is coming along in leaps and bounds.
