Hi Lou - I think you can just email the developer and he will ok the gate as per In2 post. You will need to give a spare key to the general mananger in case the workers need to gain access for any reason. One lady had an iron gazebo made that is permanent that matches her gate in block 7 and she was telling me that she has been allowed for it to stay at the moment but she thinks she will be made to take it down. To be honest although it looked nice it did stick out like a sore thumb as it was the only one on the roof top. Also I think that they could really obstruct others views with the exception of Darrens and the back blocks. The lady in block 7 got her gate from BTEC in Hadaba - she said go downstairs and she said it is huge with loads there and she also got her Gazebo here as well so may be worth a visit - not on your 1st flying visit tho!!

Brill, will definately see about a gate. We plan to go back in April to get all the furniture sorted and will then go back in june for the Party Yeh!

I can understand about the views being obstructed and thats not good - I am only 5 ft so I could have a mini gazebo ha ha.

Oh well the alternative is to fry like bacon - that will do

Hi everyone.

Does one need to see a notary first for a poa and then have it superlegalised at the Foreign Office - or other similar offices, in other countries than the UK (so far so good)?

And then, must one also get a stamp from the Egyptian consulate (this is what confuses me)?

I assume I could have a poa done in Egypt, once I'm there, and save the hassle?

Sorry if this is repetitive for some of you, but I would appreciate clarification, if anyone can help.

Thank-you.

Hi Elef - no need to apologise.

My experience is that whilst I was in Sharm I went to El Tor to the passport office to revelant docs to take to the Notary to get the POA ( cost was 40le and took literally half hour ). This was then passed onto my lawyer. This is the only way for foreigners to purchase in Sharm.

See http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/egypt...an-lawyer.html for more info on buying process in Sharm.

Regards

Alison x

Fine I now give the ok for NO-BODY to have a gazeboo except me !!! abit of i'm alright jack there.

Seriously though I can see how they would actually become abit of an eyesore and whilst I would love one I think the place might be better without them.

Default Roof Terrace

Hi all, just reading updates re "roof terrace". We brought middle floor of 3 b1/2 and would love to know who has top floor of our block, and also if you would like to consider selling half. It seems such a shame that we cant enjoy the evening sky, but also understand if you are not interested. thanks.

Hi Colin and Karen - I think you are the only members that have bought on the 1st phase. One suggestion would be to email SRE and ask them to contact the owner ( s ) for you to ask. Worth a go - as the old saying goes - dont ask dont get - good luck.

Elef, If you go to a "notary public" (a list of these can be found with Google) they will sort out the consulate sides for you. It has to go to both egyptian and british etc. I sorted mine out over here took about 2 weeks but that was over the xmas period so not too bad. I think the total cost was about £120.

It worked for me as it was cheaper than flying to sharm! I had my meeting with the notary public, was in there only 10 mins and he did everything else.

Hope that helps

Rob
