Hi all - just got back. Havent had a chance to look at the new website yet but will do later and post some recommendations and observations on there later.

Hi Jeff - I took some pics of your zone along with a vid as well I think. I will try and post them later today.

With regards to that piece of land - we saw trucks up and down all day taking away muck so appears that they for whatever reason are clearing it.

Hope all of you have been well. Got a bit of a shock at 3.30 this morning when we got in the car and it was all frosted up!!! Had to wear PJ's!!

Met some lovely new owners that were visiting the site.

It was a pleasure to meet Lou and Stew and they managed to spend longer than they 1st thought in Nabq as they flew over from Hurghada instead of the ferry. Poor Stew was not feeling well. I did manage to give them a quick tour of the area and a walk up to Al Khan , La Strada, Metro and back along the beach as this was their very 1st visit. I must again apologise to them both - when they arrived all my lot where still in bed and the kids in error locked the bedroom door so I couldnt get to my clothes so I had to walk with them in my PJ's!!!! Still I didnt feel too out of place as my PJ's had little monkey faces on them which matched Stews T Shirt lol. They really are a lovely down to earth couple and I really enjoyed time with them both. Hope you both enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

Another lovely couple was Colleen and Paul - they have bought in the same zone as you Jeff from memory and when on site they decided to buy another in block 15 which they are hoping to complete handover in December. Hopefully they will join the forum and seem up for the June party. Ed and Karen another couple bought in the zone on the front to the left of me are now living full time on site. Another couple bought in block 9 - sorry forgot your names as just a brief chat.

It was a pleasure to meet Kamila who is a lovely lady. Kamila too was fortunate to be able to stay in hers. Kamila went for the light furnishings from Mostafa and it looked lovely. Your lamp Kamila is fab. Hope you had a safe journey home and were not too exhausted.
Chris and Annette were another couple visiting hoping to complete handover but theirs wasnt quite ready and will be back when we are in December. So lots of lovely neighbours about.

One restaurant to avoid in Jasmine by St Georges is Salsa - terrible. The owner who is Dr Ahmed had previously agreed to a 10% discount. We arrived at the restaurant - he was not there on this eve ) and the place was empty - we ordered our food - 2 starters and 4 main - 3 steak and a chicken. Half hour later told no starters!! We could have steak chcik or Calamari - we said we had ordered the steak and chicken anyway and dont worry about starters. In this time we were not offered drinks and had to ask for water. 45 mins later asked for bread and that came half hour later. Getting slightly cheesed off by this time so PJ went to peek through the kitchen as we heard all this banging - they were running the meat under the hot tap and bashing it trying to thaw it out!! By this time it was an hour and a half after we ordered and we then decided to leave and walked out. They came in to St Georges to find us 15 mins later and said our meal was ready. Paul told him no way were we eating it and the service etc was terrible and they would get no English putting up with that and they would be poor!! let alone ending up with food poisoning - no wonder a doctor owns it as certainly need one if you eat there.

A great new one we found that just opened was Fish or Sea Island just along arab Sat - outside. Guys here were great. Food delicious - I had fish tagen and PJ had prawn and it was superb. We had rice, bread, water, Paul had sea food spag, lots of tahina and dips and salad and they gave us a discount and the whole feed was less than £14. Another good local one used by the Egyptians is under St Georges - you can see it under their outside terrace. We were the only foreigners in there and had the set meals which consisted of soup, salads, dips, bread, tasty chicken quarters and water - we had to stop them putting more food on the table and this was 25le a head!!
Burgerking sign was going up, TGI and Hard Rock still not open.
Soho Square at White Knights beach opened last Tues and has about 4 restaurants, ice rink, ice bar coming in Jan and a futurama 360 degree cinema.
Lots of new things - noticed a pretzel bar that was new in Naama and Apple Market Mall.

On site not an awful lot has happened since beg of Sept due to Ramadan. The restaurant however is growing. There are some issues that I will make the developers aware of.

As said I will try and post pics / vids later xx

Hi Dawn and thankyou - yes we had a grat time - had some issues as well but overall had a great time and met some wonderful neighbours who we are very much looking forward to meeting again.

Meant to have said also met Ed and Karen that are now living on site full time in the zone to the right of ours - middle zone in front row.

I have drawn up an email with regards to our recent stay highlighted some points, concerns and recommendations. If you would like to see the contents of the email please pm me your email address.

Welcome home Alison...

Frost on the car was a shock for me too at 05:30 this morning!

Loved your story about the steak - maybe they had dropped it on the floor and were just washing it LOL

Developer sent us three pics of our place yesterday, not too revealing but did show some floor and wall tiling being done, so some progress.

I think the developer's website can be developed into a very useful tool for us, especially if we want to rent out or even sell the appts. Move in the right direction anyway,

Iain

Hi Iain - when I took the pics last week there was not tiling done and the floor was still rubble - I will post them later xx

Defo avoid that place - we couldnt believe the lack of service - Prince is now working there and he was awful and kept disappearing - think he is trying to work in half a dozen places at once!!!
