Just to let everybody know the workers idea of "Anywhere will do to have a P**" isn't just restricted to Sierra.

Sharm Bride was worse !!!! it was everywhere especially on the stairs and when the stairs are also covered with rubble it makes it very tricky to walk down in saftey especially in fliperty flops, but they did seem to like the roof terrace for their Izal moment.

BTW Alison, I used to have a normal sense of humour but lost it when I met "She who must be obeyed"

Actually now we're back home in the cold, grey and damp the loo with a view sounds quite appealing for an Izal moment - nothing like the fresh air and sun on your extremities!!

Next neighbours update.

dear Diary,

i went back yesterday at the alloted time 3.30 pm (they had asked me to come at a time when it would have been dark- very clever!) and found 10-12 people working in the appt and 3 supervising.

The floors were awash, guys were cleaning the windows, the loo had been taken out (more on that later) the shower floor had been retiles where ther had been a gap by the wall, and it was a real hive of activity.

As others have mentioned the pressure was on me to sign as i had brought along wads of EŁ and had to get rid of them sso we went back to the office and signed up (taking out the clause which means you have to get permission for outside workers such as Mostafa to come onto site. They said it was about security and took out th clause at tarek's (SSRE) request.

Got my keys but had to come back today for the Lecky card.

Went back this afternoon and there is an upturned oildrum in the kitchen area (see photos) so some vertically challenged worker can reach the window. the stained toilet is now in the master bedroom, I hope to Goodness nobody uses it there and now I can see all the little items I missed yesterday.

also though I now have the keys, the patio doors were open as were the windows, and again after I had shut them.

Trouble is they do wear you down in the end.

Anyway, overall it's a great apprtment for the money and will look gerat when its finished............

Ill post the link to todays photos shortly they are mainly of my place but also look through to Lou's pool digging and should be in2tense no 62 but not sure which of those it was.

there are also some pics of a one bed where I was taking measurements.

Whilst I remember i though we could all chip in and buy a camel as they are only about EŁ 10,000 could be handy for the beach trip and getting groceries, also they are cleaner than many i could mention.the Ali baba cafe just down from us is 100% Russian and i went there with a guy from the hotel who got dragged onto the dancefloor by a VEry large and frightening lady... we moved on to Malibu above McD which was full of Italians and a chinese lady from potters bar had a Mcd at 02:00 and walked home. My friend has had to take to his bed with food poisoning (tink it was the Brandy we bought in Ali Baba) actually the whole place is full of Russians just now which the locals dont seem to keen on (except the pretty ones of course)

back to work - just been back to Sierra with Mostafa met a couple who have bought in Sharm Bride and are delighted with progress there. things pretty much as yesterday but the floors have dried.

Here is the link to tdays photos

Picasa Web Albums - iain - nabq -sierra ...

Alison - you may se that the washbasins are not standard height so think clare or Mostafa will have to measure yours.

well think that all for now - off to Ali baba,w ell actually back to shams suites.

Thanks Iain

Number 62 by the way is the end one that they have started to render, I can't believe how quickly they have moved on with it as only 4 weeks ago it was just the framework.

Sounds like your burning the midnight oil and having a great time.

Thanks again

Thanks for the update Iain. Wondered where the loo had gone???!! One tip is to make sure you change the locks before you come home. You can get them from Arabsat - same sort as what is fitted and you will only need a phllips screwdriver. Then you know when you leave and all is locked up no one has a key except for who you give one to.

Darren - ref sense of humour - North / South divide - or is it the football team lol!!??? Mind you - you will prob say that about our choice - BTW are you sure you can blame it on A and not your age!!!

Cant believe how much yours has come along Darren in the last few months!! Looking good.

Iain - see what you mean about the pipes at the back as they do look damaged. Have you put you arm down the drain next to the loo as t didnt look too good?? Lesson to be learnt from Simon ( TP member at Sharks bay got flooded twice for same reason!! ) and I - get those arms down that hole!

Did you not tell Jo you were out on business!!! and not galavanting all hours lol xx

Well arrived back last night having taken off early by ten mins at Sharm and arrived about on time , walked out ino the "drizzle" that the pilot had mentioned to a fully fledged downpour at Luton - welcome home! Jo was waiting and commented that I looked more tanned than last time OOPS! Well I forgot the sun tan lotion so I would be wouldn't I.

Anyway, still have issues witht he flat to sort like the dirty oil drum which has appeared as a work platform in the kitcken, the loo now residing in the bedroom, the broken pipes at the back, the lack of water meter (not too worried about that as wont be paying for them using my loo. Also at the back the piping will need work and there are just tons of rubbish to be moved from the area.

I was concermed that on the two visits I made after handover patio windows were left open both times - so much for my nice shiny new keys.

We will be changing the lock whjen Mostafa has done his work, and maybe before that I think.

On reflection it's just a shame that what could have been an easy visit became pure hassle as nobody seemed to be managing the handover. Thank goodness for the EŁ1 taxis, although I would then pay EŁ26 for a coffee at Starbucks using their WiFi which does seem a strange contrast.

There were a great many flies in all hotels last week, small houseflies mainly which were just annoying and gathered around your drink or food rather quickly. Worse were the Mozzies that had a field day on me to start with, though I think some good incence on the balcony or or good repellant would do the trick - they didn't seem too bad after a few days.

Booked a taxi from the hotel to the airport - he asked how much I wanted to pay, I said last time it was 60 he said new airport charge for taxis adds 30 and as always I just wanted to get home so gave him 100, might as well leave one happy taxi behind!

now sitting dow to email developer......

hi not sure which no. you are. There is a lot that looks fine at Sierra, but of course it is still a building site. Using the appt as a base and going out during the day to the beach or whatever would be fine, but I think there may be a fair bit of activity in many zones as they finish appts and zone areas.

For exmple the appt above us are still to have their floors done so lots of sand an cement will be going up the stairs. Don't forget the holiday starts officially on 7-8th Dec for three days but many start 5th and take 10 days off to go home.
