Question Visas

Hi All,

OK, this is an embarrassingly noob question. We came to Egypt last year on a package deal and visas et al were sorted out on arrival at Luxor (yes we had the 8 hour coach transfer...:-( )

This year we are going over flight-only (to avoid the long transfer) and I hope to be over in the next few weeks to look at developments - are visas issued at the airport for individual or family group visitors, or do I need to sort something before I fly out?

Any other pitfalls to watch out for?

Rgds

Roger

Last time I was out there mate it was £15 for the visa. Paid at the airport just before you exit.

Hi the visa is $15 not £15. DO NOT pay anymore. If you dont have dollars then give them a tenner and you should get at least 20le back. The price is clearly marked on the new visa so if they try and charge more point to the price. If a child is still on an adults passport then you do not pay for this child.

Arrow visas

Where is the passport office in Hurghada? Any address?

Plus - I heard that it also possible to renew a visa at a police station. Is it true?

Question Visa

Hi Everyone
I am after some advise on visa's, is it an easy process to get this when you arrive in Hurghada? and if so do they carry the forms on the aircrafts so you can get it filled in? otherwise would it be better to get one before we leave the UK. Any comments would be grateful.

What type of visa?? if it is just holiday i have always dealt with it before i go as i hate queing at the airport. No the plane does not have forms for you.Off course it is your own preference but after a 5 hour flight the last thing i want is to wait in an airport to get a stamp in me passport. The Egyptian Embassy has always had my passports back by return post pre paid registered mail but i find it best.
