Simon,

Can I just ask how long does one have to wait at the airport to gain access to the country? If its minutes then I would do that rather than send my passport off via the Royal Mail (No faith in them I'm afraid). I haven't been to Egpyt so would appreciate what other people do when holidaying there.

Hi all

I have moved the last 3 posts into this Visa thread.

The process is quite quick. Some airlines give you the entry card on the plane to fill in ( make sure you have a pen in hand luggage ) others dont and you get in handed to you when you enter the arrivals.

I have never queued for more than 15 mins. I always used to take USD to pay for these then there are no arguments as it is clearly labelled as $15 and this is per passport - do not pay extra for any child still on your passport.

If you intend on going back and forth more than once in 6 m then get a multi entry visa. I got mine in El Tor at the passport office but you can apply in the UK from the Consulate ( intructions on their website and only takes a few days ) cost in UK is £18 for multi entry and I think £15 for single.

Regards

Alison

Like i say i send by registered return post so i am just happier with this. It is your own preference.
I just hate standing in line for 5 mins let alone 15.

hi

i wonder when i buy the multiple entry visa (which I will do in London) its not difficult, how long i am allowed to stay, i dont want to acquire any other visa as i will not be living there permanently for the foreseeable future and at this point in time want to keep it all as "simple"! as it can be. will the multiple entry visa suffice and is it 30/60/90 days that you can stay does anybody know this.

thanks

Hi I believe you are allowed to stay up to 90 days at a time. It is only valid for 6 months at a time so when that one has expired you will need to buy another.
