I've just come across another development in Marsa Alam, Las Cabanas, oriental coast. There seems to be some apartments already built. 1 bed from £18,920 47sqm, 2 bed from £28,600 71sqm, 3 bed from £37,400 93.5sqm. Not sure if these are the current prices as it looks like the development was launched a while ago.

I have seen this development advertised on the web Peter i think prices start from around 19000,not bad I suppose.

The Maintenance charges seem very high ? Much more than El Gouna

With land prices higher and construction costs similar it is no cheaper to buy in Marsa Alam so I agree with Westmidlands; stick to the main resort where the infrastructure is already in place. Of course if buying for personal use and you prefer Marsa thats different, you buy what you want.

Some developments are just cheaper however as Peter says the maintenance fees look ridiculous,I think this is the new money making scheme charge everyone silly amounts for maintenance.

yes that is true, some of them but not all, some charge money for nothing
but some charge money for real value of services like maintenance

I think we will have to wait and see how the developments we have purchased our proerty in will shape up regarding maintenance.
I think there may be further issues with certain things not covered in these charges.

yes i also think they will try it on with them as we have no choice but to pay what ever they are asking where i am buying they told me in conversation on the phone they made a mistake with it and are losing money on them last week
